We moved from intimate discussions to thoughtful exchanges between groups, with a few bookish games in between—and somewhere along the way, strangers became new friends.

A little sneak peek on this upcoming novel, STATIONS by Louise Kennedy. Honestly, kalau baca reviewnya di Goodreads tuh jauh dari apa yang ada di dalam bukunya.

Out soon: 24 September 2026.

This isn’t just a story about friendship, but it’s also a story about the families that shape us, the things we carry out of childhood, and how some people never really leave the places they came from.

Hal yang paling menarik untuk aku, Kennedy tidak membuat family background hanya menjadi backstory. It shapes the way Róisín and Red see themselves, other people, intimacy, and even the choices they make later.

I did a little research on the author 🧡 Kennedy punya writing style yang sangat observational, sensory, specific and distinctly Irish. Kennedy sendiri pernah menjelaskan “northern voice”-nya sebagai sesuatu yang berkaitan dengan grim humour, anxiety, unease with place, dan vocabulary yang dipengaruhi Ulster Scots.
