Coming in with a little life update: I went to Georgia for the first time and it was a handful. I got picked up by the police because I ran into trouble with laws of physics broken down to me by a bike. I had a beer in the back of a police car. I met Madonna at the @karmahostelmartvili and had a swim in a mountain fountain in Racha. I burned my hands on khinkali and had arguable the best tomatoes in the game. Marshrutkas are also off the list and so is homemade chacha. We watched and old pal close bassiani which so very conveniently turned into Nachtiani for a night - only to then get lost in a tunnel network underneath the the silver market. I’ve seen a banana forest and had many a wine of different colors. I went to Sophia Melnikovas more than is advisable but I’m already ready to go again. I’ve also dug for some records for the first time in years and I’m happy to head home with some Georgian disco cuts that no one on my ends will have heard before. I will be back - thank you for taking me @alxndrnaw ♥️

Der nordmedia-geförderte Kurzspielfilm „A Soil a Culture a River a People“ von @li_viv wurde bei den Next Generation Short Tiger 2026 in Cannes präsentiert! ✨ Der Film entstand im Rahmen des „cast&cut”-Stipendiums, wurde an vielen Schauplätzen in Hannover gedreht und beim Filmfestival in Venedig uraufgeführt.

Die Initiative „Next Generation Short Tiger“ von FFA und @germanfilms zur Förderung von Kurzfilmen und Nachwuchstalenten bringt jedes Jahr herausragende Kurzfilme aus Deutschland nach Cannes und bietet jungen Filmschaffenden eine internationale Plattform.

Delighted to share 'A Soil A Culture A River A People' continues its journey to @kortfilmfestivalen in Norway in June. The film will screen as part of the international competition.

As we continue to watch the project make a remarkable festival run I would like to extend a huge thanks to everyone who worked on this above and below, our wonderful cast and our co-producers and co-conspirators. At long last we’re super happy to share the official poster for A Soil A Culture A River A People, woven together by the incredible @don.ebb at @a.poster.factory

Also, we can confirm the exciting news that we’re coming completely full circle with an opening night premiere at @kortfilmfestival Leuven at the end of the month - in Belgium of course, where this entire journey began back in 2021.

Still processing the week in Venice. It was an absolute dream come true to premiere our film at the Mostra by no measure of exaggeration whatsoever. This film started as a no budget passion project between friends and evolved into an international co-production of a scope I couldn’t fathom then, much less now. Thank you for this unbelievable journey together @li_viv - you are a an absolute icon. I will cherish this forever and I’m already thinking of ways to do it again, even though I probably shouldn’t. I can also definitely recommend having your editor DJ at your premiere party!

Kaleido 2024 Film

Last year, in September, we came together at Kaleido Retreat, to co-enquire what it means to Become Peace, Become Liberation.

Julian Schwandner @cinemajuls and Alex Wolf @alxndrnaw have created this powerful film capturing our process of research and play, our joy, our doubts, our aspirations, our questions, our artmaking, our dance, our talks and discussions, our poetry and the many ways we met each other and came together.

Kaleido is committed to the mission of catalyzing creativity for inner change and systems change. We create experiential and transdisciplinary spaces of co-enquiry, where people from all disciplines can come together not only as experts but also in their wholeness as humans. Kaleido is a spacetime where diverse worldviews can collide (safely) for the emergence of new ideas, metaphors, dreams, hopes, ways of understanding and being, projects, and visions.

We will come together again this year, from the 20th to the 24th of August in Hasliberg, Switzerland. Will you be there with us? by @cinemajuls
