The North Pacific

a once in a lifetime opportunity and what a humbling experience, nature in its ultimate rawest form,an ocean that doesn’t care how tough you think you are.

so proud of this achievement even if it was done through white knuckles and gritted teeth, a cold that bites your bones and isolation so unknown to an individual.

Swipe ➡️ 184 MILLION CUBIC METRES MOVED!
That’s how much earth and rock came out of the ground during the American build, 1904–1914 enough to bury Manhattan almost 4 metres deep. The worst of it was the Culebra Cut, a 13-kilometre artificial valley carved straight through the mountainous Continental Divide.
