Another quick alcohol marker page, this one from Welcome to the Forest by Morgan O’Brien. Every time I colour in these Animal Crossing books, I get the itch to play the game again. All alcohol markers on this page with a little white paint pen for accents.

July’s three The Way Home pages, I’m loving seeing this book filling up with colour! And because I’m keeping the colour palettes similar to each other, this book is going to look very cohesive in the end!

Coloured completely in alcohol markers with a touch a white paint pen for eyes, and silver gel pen for his favorite ball.

An impromptu buddy colour with my bestie Wendy, @jazzydoodledesigns. Crazy story with this one… I messaged Wendy a couple of days ago to show her which page I had just started working on, and she was like, “No Way!” And promptly messaged me back a page she was working on, the same one as I was! Out of all the books we could have picked, we chose the same one, at the same time, and out of the 100 pages in this book, it’s the same page! We should buy a lottery ticket lol.

Wendy is working on a paint marker video for her YouTube channel, so her page was done completely in paint markers (swipe to see her beautiful page). Mine has some Inktense and mostly Polys on it, and a little black glaze pen for his nose.

As a Métis indigenous person, I decided to use the colours of the tribes in my heritage to colour this page, and I’m very happy with how it turned out.

Still not sure if this page from Boules de Poils by Diane Dufour features an indoor pool or a mural… In the end, I landed on a fresh Mediterranean palette featuring these, cool blues and went for a tiled mural look.

I used a variety of mediums on this page, including markers, pencils, water colour mediums, paint pen and some gel pen.

I hadn’t worked in Johanna Basford’s Worlds of Wonder yet this year, and I figured, why not do a double? I found this great idea on Pinterest a few years back and was itching to try it. I couldn’t find an IG account for the colourist, but the tag name I found on Johanna Basford’s website’s colouring gallery is marynavy, and I wanted to make sure I credited her with the original idea. Hers was a postcard on just the airplane page and I decided to make a giant postcard over the entire double page spread. I used a quote from Amelia Earhart and had Google Gemini generate me a fictitious circa 1940s London mailing address. The postage stamp is a freebie from artsyfartsylife.com which I printed, fussy cut and glued to the page.

I used a variety of mediums on this page, Polys, Chromaflows and PanPastels. To say I’m happy with how it came out would be an understatement. by @cinqcolours

I love Aeppol’s Little Forest Girl’s Colouring Postcard Book, and when I asked Wendy @jazzydoodledesigns if she wanted to do an impromptu buddy colour with me in it, she said “pick a page!” So I chose this fun summery beach page. I love how Wendy replicated the artist’s work with her alcohol markers, though I did notice that she chose different colours for the beach ball 😂. Swipe to the third photo to see Wendy’s gorgeous work, and the fourth for the illustrator’s version.

Never one to let a colouring book tell me how to colour my page, I went in a different direction, with lighter hair, a pink bathing suit and an aqua background. I used Albrecht Durers and a Languo paint pen for the background.

It’s Christmas in July! Wendy @jazzydoodledesigns, Diane Buckley and I did the title page from A Million Christmas Cats by John Bigwood. I love how both these ladies brought their pages to life (swipe to check them out).

As for my page, I needed an easy win, so I chose to replicate the front cover using four Languo gel pens.

My very first page completed in the new Mythographic Alice in Wonderland by Joseph Catimbang. I loved every single second of colouring this page, it was magical!

Based in alcohol makers and shaded completely with Polychromos pencils except for the dusty pink halo around the heart which was a Derwent Drawing Pencil.

Thank you so much CJ @cjd1980 for helping me get started in Escape to Wonderland by Good Wives and Warriors - I absolutely LOVE the golden scales on CJ’s crocodile - swipe to see!

My page is done completely in Polychromos pencils, with just a little Brutfuner Macarons in the background.

My three June pages in The Way Home by Morgan O’Brien. This book is now over 30% complete and I’m still on track to finish by the end of the year.

Coloured entirely in alcohol markers with a touch of white paint pen for the eyes.

I made up the palette on this “Junicorn” page in Fairytales and Folklore by Emelie Lidehall Oberg as I went along. All I knew is that I wanted a purple unicorn and gold metal. It’s not my favorite page of the month, but I am quite pleased with how the gold came out. I also didn’t want to do a full background but needed something behind the glass lid to do a glass effect. So I drew in a rectangle behind the image to shrink how much background I had to colour.

Based in Pitt and Staedtler Pigment pens and shaded with Prismas and Derwent Drawing pencils.
