"Die Zauberin im Walde", another project for @illustration_udk this semester :)

It’s a 3D poster made of 5 separate lasercut layers, about the poem “Die Zauberin im Walde” (The Mage in the Forest) by Joseph von Eichendorff

Welcome to the Freischütz Blechtheater, a tin theatre I made for a scene of the Opera "Der Freischütz". It was presented at the past Rundgang of @illustration_udk 🤩

The process of handcutting sheet metal was (to no one's surprise but mine) way harder than expected, it's gonna take a few years before I do this again haha, but I had fun!

Semester Project at @infoklasse last winter. Full description below!
.
.
How do humans write, and how do Large Language Models (LLMs) write? Are there differences? Similarities? Is there anything that only humans, or only LLMs, can write? These are the questions this project attempts to answer. “Artifices of Style” is an experiment inspired by Raymond Queneau’s 1947 work, “Exercises in Style.” Like in the original, 99 literary experiments are conducted, all based on the same original story, but this time written by ChatGPT. Using lexicographical programs such as Stanza and Voyant, I then attempted to compare and analyze the human and AI-generated texts.

The results of the study can be summarized as follows: AI-generated texts are significantly longer but use simpler sentence structures; The vocabulary of the LLM texts is smaller, and experimental texts are difficult for the AI, but in contrast AI excels at writing linear and coherent or expected texts; AI also tends to produce more emotional texts, usually reflecting the original emotional direction, amplifying it. I'll add here that I'm quite LLM-critical, so my analysis might be biased! It was still a very interesting research :))

⚠️ Everything outside of the texts specified to be written by AI is human-made, including the introduction, the analysis, and all illustrations. ⚠️ by @cipschk

🐛home-made lino prints straight out of the oven 🐛

Jokes aside this is another old project I forgot to post, it was a really messy process but I still like the idea a lot!

Finally I'm posting these! Postcards from about a year ago, some of the illustrations were also taken from other projects :))

My favourite part of this project were actually the tiny illustrations on the back 🍄

Have you ever left something on the train by accident? For this lucky mushroom, it was fortunately all well in the end! And who knows, maybe the book found a couple new fans?? 🍄✨

This was part of a project from last semester, but I finally printed it! It's also my first woodcut, so even tho it's a bit messy I'm very pleased with the result :)) Made at the courses @udk_zeichnung and @illustration_udk
