UPDATE: deadline for submissions extended to Wednesday, March 18th!

Circle Aleph invites submissions for our second issue on the theme of Spiral Time.

We are requesting original works: essays, translation work, reportbacks, visual art, poems, literary reviews, propaganda, memes, sci-fi, prayer, commentary, erotica, plays, recipes and more in the realm of Jewish anarchism or anarchistic Jewishness. The editors will also be including pieces of historical text, and eagerly welcome submissions from the archive with or without commentary.

We welcome submissions in any language, and appreciate translation into English if possible.

Suggested word limit: 2500 (unless you have something fire). Staying on theme is optional.

Submissions can be sent by email to CircleAleph@proton.me by March 5th/16th of Adar.

Please include a bio in your submission email if you want. Anonymous work is welcome.

Feel free to send us work published elsewhere or to republish works written for Circle Aleph. by @circle_aleph

We have been blown away with all the amazing submissions we have received and have been passionately working to finish the formatting and start printing. The cost of supplies has been covered for the first issue but we wanted to ask for some help overcoming our largest obstacle, shipping costs.
We are always expanding the list of bookstores and infoshops to send boxes out to since our plan is for this magazine to be found around the world. To make this all possible we are asking those who have disposable income and want to see this project make it to your neighborhood to send a dollar or two our way to @pomgranate_jo on venmo. We’ve got challah covers, draw string pouches (perfect for besamim! or drugs!), and patches. Prices are sliding scale, all $ goes towards printing costs so we can keep publishing and spreading the good word of Jewish anarchism!

On Feb 12 from 6-8pm, Circle Aleph will be hosting a group reading, discussion, and fundraiser at the BCC in Tucson, AZ. We will talk about the project, read an article together, talk about the upcoming issue, and eat soup! Hope to see you there 🖤

“Olam Haba is not a future promise but a world to be built here and now. This is not a revival, it is a return. A return to a proliferation of radical ideas, a return to rebellion, a return to dual power, a return to taking what is ours.”

We are so stoked with how the first edition of Circle Aleph turned out. Thank you so much to all of our contributors, editors, artists, donors, distro sites, and readers for making this possible, for rekindling Jewish anarchist literary traditions.

Hundreds of copies have been printed and shipped and more are still coming. Also...the call for submissions for vol. 2 is coming soon. 🖤 by @circle_aleph
