MEET 🎪 GIORGIA & ROBERTO

Next in our residency series: Giorgia Giani and Roberto Saba, the duo behind Circus Ex-Centrum.

For their residency at Petit Cabaret 1924, they are working on COGITO, a contemporary circus project that explores the movements of the mind through two bodies and a staircase.

Through handbalancing, object manipulation and physical research, the staircase becomes much more than an object: an obstacle, a limit, a support, a point of view and a constantly changing architecture.
Their research is rooted in the relationship between the two performers and their continuous search for balance — both physical and mental.
We’re happy to have Giorgia and Roberto with us. ✨

More from the residency soon.

Our first open presentation was a success! ✨
Seeing a standing ovation at this stage of the creation gives us so much energy to keep going. Thanks to everyone from @acroyoga_toulouse and @lecircographe who gave us this possibility, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
We will keep nourishing our project with all the traces you left with us, giving new shapes to our Surrealist revolution

COGITO presentation ✨

On June 13th at 8:30 pm, we will be presenting our work at @lecircographe in Toulouse

We are absolutely thrilled! So many of Cogito’s rehearsals took place within these walls, and now we can finally return the favour

Also massive thanks to @acroyoga_toulouse and @acroconnexion for inviting us at their amazing convention!

Our last residency at @spazionu was absolutely amazing!

First of all, because we discovered an incredible, completely self-produced reality that has been offering a rich program of culture and art for 20 years. We also made new connections that we are sure will grow over time.

Secondly, because for the very first time, we opened our new Bureau of Surrealist Research—a special moment shared with passersby, diving together into the world of dreams and the unconscious.

Cogito is not just a show. We want it to be an experience you can live in different ways, discovering something new about yourself every time you encounter it.

Next step: We will be presenting our short form at @lecircographe in Toulouse!
Saturday 13 june at 20:30

We can’t wait to see you there! 🇫🇷👇

“Who are you when nobody’s watching you?”

Cogito is growing.

What began as physical research for a #circus show is now expanding into other #art forms, and we’re excited about it!

Cogito explores the realm of the #unconscious and, in doing so, has brought us closer to the #surrealist movement.

A new layer took shape at @officinacrobatica residency: even before entering the performance space, you’ll be drawn into the universe of your unconscious through a series of #sitespecific conceptual art installations created with materials we find in the space.

Stay tuned for the next step. On May 15th, during our residency week at @spazionu , we will reopen the Office of Surrealist Investigations! taken in OfficinAcrobatica by @circus.excentrum

We are reaching the end of what FOCON was.
It has been some cool months with a lot of amazing people trying to help each other in chasing our own and unique artistic worlds.

Here we leave some of those moments, a big thanks to @esactolido and to everyone we shared this journey with, and the hope that art will give a bit of light in a world that needs it every day more and more.

According to Plato, human beings once had four legs, four arms, and two heads, and were perfect.
So perfect that they dared to challenge the gods and were therefore punished: Zeus split them in two, condemning them to wander for the rest of their existence in search of this lost wholeness.

From then until today, we are united by a need for something we do not have and constantly seek: money, clothes, power, a partner, a job…
But what if what we are missing is still within us, simply hidden from our sight?

Quick highlight of some of the things we worked on during this last week of residency.
Thanks a lot to @lecircographe , who saved our Christmas by giving us the best present: a space where our project can grow!
