The nation’s largest and oldest housestaff labor UNION, representing 40,000 interns, residents, and fellows nationwide.

POSTS STORIES REELS

Last Thursday morning, Kaweah Health resident and fellow doctors delivered a petition signed by a supermajority of housestaff to KH leadership demanding that @kaweahhealth follow the law and recognize their union! Kaweah leadership, headed by CEO Marc Mertz, have been delaying and have yet to agree to proceed with a card check. It’s time to respect your housestaff’s decision to unionize, and it’s time to start bargaining for their first contract! ✊

Doctors are political! And we want YOU to vote in the 2026 Midterm Elections 🗳️📣

CIR Member Political Organizers all across the country have been mobilizing for our endorsed candidates and measures. We’ve been making calls, knocking on doors, and speaking out to make sure people have a plan to vote and know who the healthcare champions are on the ballot.

Many people say that doctors shouldn’t get involved in politics. But that could not be more contrary to our oath and duty as physicians. The decisions made outside our hospitals directly affect our ability to provide care, and the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

That’s why as union doctors, we advocate for ourselves and our patients in our hospitals… AND at the ballot box.

Tomorrow is Election Day and the last chance to cast your ballot. From our resident work conditions, healthcare, affordability, immigration, big tech—and control of Congress, there’s so much at stake.

Don’t sit this one out. Check out cirseiu.org/vote for the official CIR voter guide in your state and get out and VOTE! by @cirseiu

TODAY, resident physicians at NYPresbyterian Brooklyn Methodist delivered postcards to hospital President Juan Mejia with a clear message: We deserve a fair housing stipend, NOW!

We train in one of NYC’s most expensive housing markets, where the local Area Median Income (AMI) is $174K, more than DOUBLE that of NYP Queens ($74K). Yet NYP refuses to provide us with the same housing benefits as our colleagues at other campuses. Same health system, same work, so why the unequal treatment? We're not asking for luxury, just parity.

We’re done settling for less. We deserve the wages, benefits, and RESPECT we’ve earned, and we won’t stop fighting until we get them! 💪🏽💜 by @cirseiu

We did it! 🎉 CIR physicians at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital have won major improvements to our wages, benefits, and working conditions!

By coming together and taking action, we secured 4% annual salary increases, $1,800 in yearly meal benefits, increased medical education and conference funding, and expanded transportation reimbursements for off-site rotations. We also won critical fatigue mitigation protections to help residents get home safely after long shifts, additional interview leave, and healthcare coverage through the VHHSBP!

These victories didn’t happen on their own. When hospital management resisted our priorities, we stood together, organized, and made our voices heard. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and will keep fighting to raise standards for resident physicians across NYC! 💪🏽💜 #Winning by @cirseiu

One more CIR endorsement out of Vermont! CIR doctors are endorsing @janooforvt Governor.

As a progressive committed to addressing affordability, housing, healthcare, AI centers, and more, Amanda is ready to fight for the well-being working people.

With 4 days left to vote in the 2026 Midterm Elections, head to your voting place as soon as possible! by @cirseiu

CIR physicians at @christianacare have had ENOUGH of the disrespect and retaliation as we negotiate our first contract. Delaware has the second worst physician retention rate in the country and our state desperately needs talented doctors to build their careers here. ChristianaCare is a multibillion dollar health institution and can absolutely afford to pay their for tribe healthcare workers fairly!

CEO Jenn Schwartz, we hope you’re listening! 14 months is long enough. We need a FAIR CONTRACT NOW! by @cirseiu

It’s a toss up in Florida 🚨 We have a real chance to flip Florida’s senate seat and change the balance of power in Congress.

CIR leader and Member Political Organizer Dr. Maya McCoy talks about why our union has endorsed @angieforfl in this @prismreports piece.

We need a leader who is actually focused on affordability. Not a MAGA extremist beholden to special interests and ready to attack vulnerable people.

There’s FIVE days left to vote! Cast your ballot now. by @cirseiu

In Massachusetts, cannabis is in the ballot! As doctors, we know that regulating cannabis is safer than making it illegal. Banning would make people turn to unsafe and unregulated suppliers.

MA voters—Vote NO on Question 8! by @cirseiu

6 days left to cast your vote for the 2026 Midterm Elections! Make sure you know the candidates and measures endorsed by CIR doctors in your state.

As union doctors, we fight for ourselves and our patients in our hospitals… AND at the ballot box. There’s a lot at stake—including control of Congress, electing healthcare champions, and ballot measures that will directly impact our hospitals/services, our communities, and our rights.

Hospitals across California, including UC Medical Centers, are seeing an influx of patients brought in by ICE. The current UC policy is not protecting patients or staff from immigration enforcement. Tell UC to adopt a policy that protects patients brought in under ICE custody! Send an email NOW at link in bio

We’re flipping NJ-7! 📣💜✊ CIR Member Political Organizers Dr. Max Everett and Dr. Karen Huang joined other @seiu_nj workers this weekend to rally and canvass for our endorsed candidate Rebecca Bennett!

NJ-7 is a critical race that will help determine control of the House. We’re mobilizing to elect a leader who will fight for accessible healthcare, standing up to private equity, protecting NJ’s diversity. See you at the polls—let’s win this! by @cirseiu

I know what it feels like to sit in an ER waiting while someone you love is getting sicker.

That’s why keeping an eye on Amendment 3. Jackson Health System is projected to lose nearly $64 million over two fiscal years, and doctors are warning about what cuts like that could mean for patient care.
This doesn’t stay abstract when you’re the one waiting.

Vote NO on Amendment 3.
