Always special for me when I can come be around this part of my team and in particular Coach Rene. I’ve known him for over ten years now and was lucky enough to be promoted by him as well. I’m even luckier to have him as a friend. As I recover, I’ll be happy to be around more!! 🕷️ 🕸️ @jiujitsumethods @rlo702jj @fielderrol @jt_jitsu ❤️‍🩹 by @cityofrefugejiujitsu

I’m showing this because when you feel them wanting to pull guard, you can wait and bait—effect a pass that way. I put my hand up near his shoulder to encourage him to put his foot on that hip (false opening) and it worked—this time. 😂 taken in FTCC by @cityofrefugejiujitsu

Families who train together melt my old crusty heart! This father son duo was my first ever Family Lesson, and it was a true honor for me. They had a blast 💥

KIDS COACHING IS NOT THE MINOR LEAGUES FOR ADULT CLASSES. KIDS COACHING IS THE BIG TIME. THE REAL REASON I TRAIN AND LOVE THIS ART. MY RECENT FORCED BREAK IN TRAINING MADE ME RECONNECT WITH THAT TRUTH ABOUT ME. YOUNG PEOPLE DESERVE OUR/MY BEST.
