Reporting on the Commission Internationale de Voltige Aerienne, the elite venue for aerobatic competition flying since 1960

Oliver Adamy @oadamy is the World Unlimited Glider Aerobatic Champion! His name gets added to a list with only eight other pilots who have earned the title in the Championship’s 41 year history. His historic victory comes just four years after his first World Competition in Issoudun, France where he won the Advanced World Champion title in 2022, at 17 years old, the youngest to ever do it. Two years later Oliver returned to the world arena to make his debut in the Unlimited category in Oschatz, Germany. He was the only pilot to enter the contest flying the two seat MDM-1 Fox, a type that many believed was no longer able to compete at the highest levels. His courage and composure were on display as he didn’t let doubters discourage him from the ambitious path. His performance in Oschatz, while it didn’t land on the podium, proved to the world that both he and the Fox have what it takes to scrap with the best. This year he was able to return to Fayence with his Czech teammates and once again fly the Swift that he flew to his first Advanced title. After a grueling week of competition, a rare full six program contest was completed and Oliver’s especially strong work thru the Unknowns brought him to the top of the leaderboard to win the gold medal for the Unknowns as well as the overall win to bring the highest trophy in the sport for the first time to the Czech Republic. And at just 21 years old, he is once again the youngest to ever do it. In spite of his meteoric rise to the top of the sport, Oliver Adamy remains a humble champion saying, “the success of an individual is actually the success of an entire team.”

History made in Mason City, Iowa!

Florent Oddon of the French Unlimited Aerobatic Team has done it again! At the 33rd FAI World Aerobatic Championship (August 24–September 2, 2026), Oddon claimed his third consecutive World Champion title.

Already the 2022 and 2024 champion, he now becomes the first pilot in history to win three straight FAI World Aerobatic Championships — a remarkable milestone in one of aviation’s most demanding disciplines.

Team France also took first place, led by the powerhouse trio Florent Oddon, Mikaela Brageot, and Sébastien Souchet. Their combined scores put France on top of the world stage once again.

Huge congratulations to Florent and the entire French team on this historic victory!

First avalanche in the I-45 Jay. ✈️

Loop. Apex. Snap.
And the rotation rate caught me off guard. Fast. Really fast.
Slightly over-rotated on this one, so next time I’ll stop it a touch earlier.

One thing is already clear: this glider loves speed. 🤘🔥

Testing the newest Polish aerobatic glider, one figure at a time.

One of my training flights for the World Championships.
This is where you see it clearly: glider aerobatics is all about energy management.
No engine. No second chances. Every meter of altitude and every km/h of speed has to be spent wisely.
High positive and negative G-loads, and every figure has to be flown with absolute precision.

Thank you, Aeroklub Warszawski and Aeroklub Polski, for the support.
