Let’s talk coverups.
Can they be removed? Yes. Do they take longer to remove? Yes.

There’s significantly more ink in the skin, which means there’s more for the laser to break down and more for your body to process out. On top of that, coverups usually involve layers of multiple colors (like black over green), and different colors require different wavelengths to target them. Because of that, the colors don’t fade at the same rate so it takes more time to clear.

This was so fun to laser. Truly.

With summer coming up, please remember that the sun and laser are not friends. You always want to avoid sun exposure at minimum 2 weeks pre and post treatment. If you are in the sun, make sure you use a good physical sunscreen or, even better, keep the area covered.

Remember when we talked about removal being progressive? This is exactly what we were talking about! Full removal and fading both take multiple treatments spaced at minimum 6 weeks apart.

The number of treatments is super dependent on your tattoo, your immune system and even how well you take care of your skin.

Bring me all the blow out. Please & thank you.

After photo is immediately following treatment. Once the erythema (redness) has subsided, areas of ink may still be present. Laser is progressive and while blowout does tend to move fairly quickly it may still take multiple sessions for full removal.
