serendipity 🌌

I don't usually get personal on socials, but I feel like sharing some insight for anyone interested

but first, happy pride to all 🏳️‍🌈
and thanks @thisweekinasbury for my photobomb 📸

It started as an existential crisis at 7th ave beach late August of 2023. While I lay sprawled, staring up at the sky, my friend Dee asks me, "..well, what do you love more than anything, what's one thing you feel most passionately about? A constant." I replied "..well, music... sound... but how do I do that?"

The same day I attended the open mic hosted by @jasonportizo Ever since walking through that door, my life has spiraled into one serendipitous event after another, to the point where I no longer believe in coincidence

That open mic was how I met all of my best friends, how I gained the confidence to perform. I experimented with different genres, sounds and vocal styles and rekindled my passion for everything sound

Eventually I was asked by @kbluemusic_ to play my first paid solo performance and over time, my friends and I formed 3 projects @sportsontheradio @midcenturymusic & intlsuperstarrobin which also simultaneously kick started my obsession for audio gear

Fast forward 3 years - I perform music professionally, book, promote, provide gear and sound engineer for my own shows as well as for other local events. More recently I leaned into the sound aspect of the music scene and turned everything I was already doing into a small business I call @ciciosound

I am blessed beyond measure and forever grateful for everything the universe has shown me and given me. It feels like I have an angel looking out for me. Whether or not you're religious, I believe heavily in the power of manifestation. Prayer is exactly that, so I have to thank my mom for always keeping me in hers ♡

To end cap, believe in yourself. Move with intent to do your absolute best for yourself and for others everyday. Love unconditionally, be your genuine self always. Build connections with everyone you meet, ask them what they're passionate about. Plant seeds and let the roots surprise you.

We're here to support each other. You don't have to do this alone - and you shouldn't 🫶

Three Fridays ago, I lost my sweet Buddy boy 🐶🪽 I got a call from my dad, rushed to the vet - luckily made it just in time to say goodbye, which I'm so grateful for. Thank you so much to everyone for the overwhelming love and support... kind words, a story, a hug, taking the time to pause and listen to one or more of my rants 😄

Between then and now, especially the first night and that first week, it feels like every moment and interaction has contributed to keeping me afloat as my heart attempts to accept reality and heal. I'm beyond grateful for the genuine love and concern from everyone in my life, strangers included. To witness how caring, insightful and supportive people can be if you allow yourself be straight-forward and open is truly inspiring and awesome. We live in a time where nobody wants to look silly, so nobody really gets vulnerable or "goes first", but I challenge you to go first and see what happens ✨️

Human uglyness seems to be society's current narrative, it's everywhere. There's so much bad to show, and rightfully so to an extent - I believe strongly in transparency - but I propose we try to start talking about the opposite just as much. That we also celeberate all of the beautiful, the cool, weird, sad, freaky, funky, real stuff... and real life. Human stuff. The beauty. The "music" - pun intended 😜

Do you believe in manifestation? Let's tip the scale ⚖️

Anyways, it's so important to feel love at a time when loss would suggest feeling a deep void of it, so thank you all very much, you fill my heart ❤️‍🔥

Have a beautiful day 🌞
