My sweet angel. It’s already been a year since you left. I thought I would have a million words by this day but I feel like you’ve still been with me with every single step since.. in a way just watching and protecting. No words being said but a constant pull reminding me to keep going forward. With life there comes hard truths and challenges that everyone has to endure. Earlier this month my time had come to say goodbye to my best friend. When we’re younger we see our parents as superheroes of a sort. An immovable force that can do anything. That’s how I saw Celeste. My sun. My hype woman. My diary. A mother that gave her children the world and then some. A person who touched the hearts of many and lit up a room without even trying. I tried my best to honor her when she was in this realm and I will continue to do so while she is gone to the next. Please do not feel for me as my heart is so full of the life she gave me and the words she instilled still echo in my thoughts. I am forever grateful to those that reached out and are holding me up during this time. That kindness I’ll never forget and I am forever indebted. All I asked is for you all to hold your love ones a little tighter and leave no words unsaid. So cheers to the greatest mother. The icon of my life.
