💜 THE LAST TRUE THING 💜

An Adult Contemporary Romantasy by C.K. Chang

Neive Endrick has drifted like a ghost for centuries—an immortal wanderer haunted by a past she can’t reach and a nature she can’t name—until an enigmatic professor sparks a flicker of shocking recognition. But as her memories begin to surface at last, so does the prophecy that spells her doom.

Together with her mortal knight and an enamored wizard who has chased her through the cycles of time, Neive challenges the portent and the poet it came from. But truth is a battle that can only be waged within and hers might be too late to save her unicorn heart.

~*~

This is the story for all my fellow Molly Grues who have been waiting a lifetime for our unicorns, only to discover she's been hiding inside us all along. 🦄

Painting a fuller picture of my current work in progress:
✨🎶SYMPHONIC SOULS🎶✨

This story owns so many pieces of my heart, I hope one day it finds others to connect with, too!

Cecelia despises the lifeless harmonies of Earth's newly minted Divine Era, and the Gods whose edict demands them. But when an ancient tone poem awakens magic within her music, she sees an opportunity to restore its soul to the world. To do so, she must trust her heart with the spirit inside her song and have faith that love won't become the worst betrayal of her life.

His incredible likeness created by the talented @artingardy

He inspired a character in a novel I never commissioned art for that's currently on the shelf of things to one day revise. But as you can see, he deserves MC attention. 😉

Writing is a roller coaster.

Word counts go up. They come plummeting down. Up again. Off to agents. Hopes fly to the sky only to drop like the tower of terror. We jump tracks to a new story to save our sanity and find out we’re just starting the whole thing over again.

I jumped tracks a while back to musicwip and so far I'm loving this ride. 😁🎶

We write for the journey. For the fantasy. For the outlet.

For the chaos. 😈

We've been writing together for so long, sitting there and discussing what's coming next, talking about the struggles of writing and querying, and everything in between.

And still, there are things we don't talk about. Things we have very strong opinions about.

So this was kinda fun.

To realize that even though we're all writers and going through this together, we don't agree on everything.

Willpower? Nope. Not in this context. It's always just a few clicks away...

So much caffeine. Especially for weeks like this one when I spent more energy than I actually had all weekend. 🤪

Thankfully I've surrounded myself with a group of kind, supportive readers. Might go through this all again one day when more people can read my books. 😉

I did some genre-wandering last month which did my soul some good. I absolutely adored These Immortal Things by @r.raeta and can't wait to finish the duology this month. Station Eleven had been on my list for ages and now I can't figure out why I didn't prioritize it sooner. All of them inspired me in one way or another. Grateful to exist in a time filled with so much exciting reading.
