20 years since Millis, 10 married, 3 kids (twins, because why not). bikes all over Burlington and Boston, from slinging kabobs and crepes in VT to cappuccinos at ERC (iykyk), Somerville to JP, a zillion concerts, becoming adults (allegedly). we danced to Stay Forever at our wedding and ended the night with Your Party and so far we're sticking with the plan. happy decade anni to my soulmate by @ckeminott

My dad was a twin, so when he joked early in my second pregnancy that it was twins I should have believed him. But I said: absolutely not, thats not funny. Low and behold, a few weeks later there they were on the ultrasound. Fraternal boys, just like him. Of course he knew.

He came from the midwest, served in Vietnam, lived in various places across the country and ended up, in my eyes, forever a Boston man. During elementary school, he'd drop me off at school in the Back Bay and say "happy is warm and dry" every morning. Decades later, he was on my front porch here in JP, drinking his coffee while Pearl got ready for her first day of school and sent her off with the same sage advice.

Food was his specialty, all the way until the end, when he consumed many Shake Shack shakes. Restaurants, recipes, or the meal he just had, and the jams, jellies, or spices he recently discovered. Coffee, lots of coffee. He always had a Globe subscription so he could call and tell me about my own city — the weather, the Sox or the Bruins, whatever I'd missed. He was always curious, interested in whatever I was up to, wherever it was.

He passed last week after a year with pancreatic cancer. I have so much I still want to say to him, and about him. For now, I'm walking around Boston and finding him in it — in my boys' faces, in a good meal, in every warm and dry day. 💙 taken in Boston by @ckeminott

Life, school, covid, etc etc got in the way of celebrating and paying homage to our 8 year wedding anniversary so I’m doing it here, 10 days late.

To borrow the words from Hayley Williams…some things just make sense and one of those is you and I. Happy 8 years to Addison (who is no longer on Instagram), ISIY 😜. by @ckeminott

It feels like yesterday that I was writing about Pearl’s 4th birthday, and here we are after yet another turn around the sun. Everything I wrote about her at 4 is still true - even more so - at 5. I was not prepared for how Pearl’s reputation would proceed her “THIS is Pearl?! I’ve heard about Pearl!” or fun it is to watch a true star shine brighter and brighter every day. She’s an enthusiastic and fun friend, a doting sister, and the light of our life. I love watching her try new things, listening to her stream of consciousness, and watching as she becomes a little girl. This is 5! 🖐️ by @ckeminott

In their second year, the boys’ personalities really started to shine. Bazzy is a big time feeler, physically and emotionally, and truly charming. He loves trucks and anything fire-related, but especially his daddy. Chauncey is inquisitive and, like his sister, knows exactly what he wants (but also how to get it 😏). They compliment and rely on eachother, seemingly the best of friends.

Raising, managing, playing with, de-escalating two toddlers (plus another, and myself) is quite literally the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Like with any job, seeing progress and growth leads to fulfillment, and this is no different. Getting to this point as a mother feels like a huge achievement, so I’ll be celebrating that today, too. 💜💚

No better way to celebrate @dadd3son on Father’s Day than with a whirlwind 48 hours in Vegas for @deadandcompany.

It’s hard to confine Addison’s qualities as a dad into words. He’s patient, playful, adoring, protective and fiercely loved. In our kids’ eyes, any item - be it Boston’s transit system or a toy - can be fixed by daddy and any construction crew on the streets of Boston must be from “daddy’s work”. He is the center of their world. We may collapse in exhaustion every day, but our kids lay their heads down full of love for us and their star of a dad. What a treat that is to see. Happy Fathers Day to one I couldn’t do this all without. What a trip! 😘 by @ckeminott

Ingredients for a perfect wedding:

👩‍❤️‍👨 1 happy couple (preferably a perfect match)
🧒🏻 At least 10 kids, including one pair of twins
🌤️ Perfect weather, dramatic clouds and sporadic rain OK
😍 Gorgeous bridesmaids with beautiful dresses (at least 5)
🌸 As many flowers as possible
🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻The most proud parents (on both sides)
🥳 Loving family and friends to celebrate, x150 or so
🏡The most full (figuratively, maybe literally) home in all of Cape Cod
🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 The biggest, best families you can find (bigger the better)
🍦Ice cream

If you have the chance, have your cousin get married in a beautiful European costal town in a stunning fort with your entire extended family on a sunny day with ample time for photoshoots during golden hour, k?
