"Focus Stacking" ... I fun and really effective technique... not often used in the wedding world. Why ? cuz it takes a little planning, a little extra time, and is "sort of" complicated. I had a small flash on a softbox/boom pole held by a wedding guest... i stood in the same spot and tried not to move and told everyone else in the bridal party not to move... took a shot of my "couple" ... then had the guest with my flash move to the left of the next couple... Took that shot... then had him move to the left of the far couple... took that shot .... each shot the focus was on each individual couple... then in post i "focus stacked" the 3 images together... and with a little post tweeking... this was the result :) Was one of those weddings with very few people... we "actually had time to go outside the box and create a few fun shots " :) Super easy stuff to create... just takes a little team work/planning/and time.... Without engaging this "technique" .. the two couples in the back would not at all be in focus given the time of night and the distance to subject of the couple in the front ... Optics just dont work that way .... Remarkably shot on one of the older Fuji Xpro2 bodies at this point ... by @ckreationz

April 2016 Marlena & Travis . Detroit area... Once again a darker "night shot" ... (do we see a pattern here ? ) ... these are not complicated shots... just need a little creativitie and a few extra speelights in your bag to pull this kinda work off... sometimes it works better than others... this particular night ... um yeah... gave just the vibe the couple was asking for :) by @ckreationz

June 2015 Michelle & Andrew...Birmingham MI. Well after their ceremony and in the middle of the chaos of their reception... They had booked /Paid... not sure what ? for the Movie theater accross the street from their reception venue to have their names on the Marque. It pourd rain that whole eve... but we did indeed find a few mins to go out and pop off a shot of them in front of their home town theater... by @ckreationz

Same idea here with "lighting a scene" ... This couple between their "ceremony and reception" contracted for (I think it was 30 mins in the famous Detroit/Fox theater.) of course this seems like a great oppurtunity but when you ponder/parking/bus drop off/wedding party/ and "miniutes to get anything " for whatever ungodly price they paid for the time ... Ok the lobby shots with the bridal party were "OK" but not my favs... however their was this elevator/private off to the side that was red... I took the couple back there, and with a couple of extra speedlights in the bag, within mins same kinda vibe... set one at each side of the entrance and one behind for some of the shots... and "indeed" we got a few "keepers" .... was a "challenging day" as a shooter ... (shot on a fuji Xpro2 at the time circa 2016 i believe...) ... by @ckreationz

So ... Here we go ... Pergola or Gazebo ... to a photographer ... "Same thing" small outdoor structure. This particular venue had this "pergola" out by the Detroit river in the back of the venue. Often late in receptions the party is going, you already have a million dance shots and you ask the couple "hey" you want to go outside a few mins and see if we can get a few "moments" on the "memory cards" .. ? This is another example of how insanly easy it is to pull off this kinda moment... Wide angle lens and putting 2 tiny little speedlights at each side of the main posts (you can see them on the ground) .... In this shot it had just finshised raining so it added a little contrast... bottom line couple was thrilled... and just a few mins out of their "party time" to create a couple of moments :) .... "Pergola vs Gazebo" weddings ? ... Yes indeed these two structures on many wedding venue grounds are "magnets" for wedding ceremonies. Often Bridal parties request after the ceremony if there is none to go to a park or place where their is one for a photoshoot ... WE often as photographers have little time before the reception, and are working at "light speed" ... this set of images is "the case" ... about 4 miles from the ceremony site and 10 mins before the reception was suppose to start. The "Easiest way to make a shot like this work" ... is pull a couple of flash's out of your kit... put them on the floor at each post of the interest and point them up ... then "hope for the best" ... Given we were right at "blue hour" with a "monster wedding party on the bus" ... it all worked out and we got a couple of snaps ... "Detroit area" ..circa 2015 i believe..... by @ckreationz
