Long-time Latin coach Patty Waldron was inducted into the North Carolina Swimming Hall of Fame on Friday, October 2, 2026 in recognition of her 47 years of coaching excellence, in addition to her contributions as a swimmer and as a fundraiser for Swim Across America. Coach Waldron took over the helm of the Latin program in 2008 as the second coach in program history. During her time at Latin, the Hawks won 19 conference championships and nine state championships, earning her multiple Coach of the Year accolades from the Charlotte Observer and the CLS Booster Club. Patty continues to make a major impact both through her role as the head of the MSA Masters Swimming program and as the volunteer event director for Swim Across America - Charlotte. Congratulations Coach Patty on this well-deserved honor!

Athlete of the Week: Eighth grader Jake Parenteau is a versatile, team-first player who contributes wherever he’s needed, lining up at outside linebacker, tight end, and defensive line. His hard work, positive attitude, and leadership make him a great teammate and role model for younger Hawks.

Jake made a big impact on the field, catching a 63-yard touchdown pass in the Hawks’ 28–6 win over Covenant Day. The team finished the season with two hard-fought victories, including a 6–0 win over Providence Day.

Jake’s willingness to embrace any role, support his teammates, and lead by example reflects what it means to be a Hawk. Congratulations, Jake! 🏈🔥 #GoHawks #LTCR by @cl_hawks
