When you don't name what you're feeling, you risk allowing that emotion to speak for you through your attitude, your reactions, your relationships, and the decisions you make.
Name the emotion. Identify where it comes from. Address what it needs.

Because emotional maturity isn't about never feeling uncomfortable emotions. It's about being honest enough with yourself to understand what you're feeling instead of letting it control how you show up in the world. by @clairelyrics

I'm just working my way through the healing and the shift in season. My new goal is my health and weight loss goals. My weight has been up and down all year and a year postpartum is plenty of time to get back into my own body. I told myself this old me is staying right here in this shelter. So I'm beauty maxxing, bio hacking, and really being intentional. It's going to be a powerful week. Can't wait to showcase what I've been working on the last few months, network and learn so much. The last couple weeks I've been building out my framework and ecosystem while driving traffic to my own community space. While also using AI in a more efficient and productive way. This 2nd year in NYC I'm excited to hit the ground running and doing a lot of foot work moving through the cities small business sectors.

Most Haitian children grew up with this idea that being perfect was equal to being valued. And that's why a lot of our parents were overly critical of us as children. The concept of doing something for attention stems from some where and majority of the time it's the exact shame that our parents experienced as well. #GrowingUpHaitian by @clairelyrics

Haitian people deal with TOO much shame. And when I think about my upbringing and the programming it's something I NEVER want for my children. And I'm happy the cycle ends there. All that programming from how we are raised to literally be perfection on the eyes of other people is toxic. We are trained to REPRESENT our families when we go out always putting on a show. I don't like that part and feeling about being Haitian. Although I wouldn't trade my culture and heritage for anything else I still feel like a lot of things are swept under the rug ESPECIALLY towards Haitian Young Women.
