Brisk morning planting clams today!! Even though the farmers market and summer is over. Work never stops on the clam farm.

Instead we shift gears and start planting the future crop.

These clams will be in the bay for 3 years. Each clam filters at least 4 gallons of water a day! That equates to 4,380 gallons of water filtered per clam before they are harvested. taken in Brigantine, New Jersey by @clamdaddys

During the months of May and June we are extremely busy harvesting and planting seed clams. These clams will stay in their new home for at least 2 more years.

Clam farming takes lots of time, preparation, and planning to have successful harvests.

Tomorrow we are back to harvesting clams for The Brigantine Farmers Market. We can not wait to see everyone there! by @clamdaddys
