Making the most of the flower field’s Autumn crop today with a wonderful group of enthusiastic painters. Skilfully led by artist @annamacinnesart we painted watercolour plant portraits and still life arrangements reflecting the season’s harvest. We also came up with some new ideas to bring our friends with us into the field and studio space on a more regular basis. The dahlias are still coming thick and fast and combined with these floaty cosmos & zingy zinnias, bouquets are looking fabulous at the moment. Visit my website to order your own or book on to a workshop to spend time out here in the field and studio reconnecting with flowers. It’s been team Clamerkin Wild this weekend which has been such a pleasure. I’m so often on my own in the studio or in the flower field beavering away with various projects that having @hellopetal_iw to work with on this special wedding project was a total joy. Using flowers grown here on my field and working with our bride to create our concept, could not have been more rewarding. Planning next year’s events already. Seed collecting is a very satisfying part of flower farming. Each little gem holds the hopes for the following year and harvesting seeds for free is a win. I leave enough on some plants for them to self sow as well. Often I get better germination letting nature do its thing particularly if some seeds need the cold stratification of the winter months but not leaving everything to chance feels reassuring. I have got competition in my fields! Now is the time to start checking your earlier flowerings for seeds for free too. by @clamerkinwild

Love a bit of layering in the landscape- especially thistles, seed heads and grasses. Thanks to @clamerkinwild for gifting me some beauties to inspire me by @clamerkinwild

I can’t tell you how rewarding it is to learn a new skill later in life. Using my flower field as our inspiration we were skilfully guided through learning how to paint flowers with pen and inks. Taking time to really look and think about colour and form with the amazing @annamacinnesart encouraging us along the way, was the highlight of my week! New dates coming soon. If you’d like to join us, leave a comment. All materials and a posy of flowers to take away with your art! by @clamerkinwild
