My first IRONMAN 70.3 experience.

I always heard that IRONMAN is a test of endurance and mental strength, but no words can truly prepare you for what it feels like until you are out there.

This experience humbled me more than I expected.

I came prepared. I trained hard. I sacrificed time, comfort, and countless early mornings. I trusted the process and respected the distance. Yet IRONMAN has a way of reminding you that no amount of preparation makes it easy.

They say, “If it’s not hard, it’s not IRONMAN.”

Believe me—it is hard.😂

The hardest part for me came during the final kilometers of the bike course. The excitement was gone, the adrenaline had faded, and exhaustion began to take over. My legs started tightening with every pedal stroke. The finish line still felt far away, and for the first time that day, I could feel my body asking me to slow down.
In those moments, the battle was no longer physical. It became mental.

I searched for strength where I could find it and started singing worship songs. Quietly at first, then louder as I rode. Every lyric reminded me why I was there. Every verse helped me push through another kilometer. When my legs wanted to quit, my faith carried me forward.

Somewhere between the pain, the prayers, and the songs, something changed.
Without even realizing it, I had reached the transition area.

Looking back, I realize that IRONMAN is not about proving how strong you are. It is about discovering how much you can endure when everything becomes difficult. It is about humility. It is about perseverance. It is about continuing to move forward when every part of you wants to stop.

Today, I am grateful—not because the race was easy, but because it was hard. The struggle made the finish meaningful. The pain made the achievement real.

Most of all, I am grateful for the people who have been part of this journey. To my coaches thank you for believing in me, guiding me, and pushing me beyond what I thought was possible. To my 3F Striders family, thank you for every training session, every word of encouragement, every shared struggle, and every celebration along the way. Today I turn 43, and I celebrate more than just a birthday. I celebrate God’s faithfulness.

I celebrate the gift of good health, the ability to live an active life without maintenance medication, and the opportunity to keep pursuing goals that once felt impossible.

Three weeks ago, I completed my first-ever IRONMAN 70.3.

Not because I am the strongest athlete, but because the Lord gave me the strength to keep going through every early morning, every setback, every tired day, and every mile of the journey.

A day before IRONMAN 70.3 Baku

Final check before bike check-in. Months of preparation are done — now it’s time to trust the training, stay calm, and enjoy the race.
No more hard workouts. No more last-minute changes. Just confidence in the work that got me here.

Burned 1915 calories in 2:41:23 at the Oceanic Triathlon… only to immediately undo the deficit with a 2500+ calorie buffet breakfast included in registration 🤣

Swim. Bike. Run. Repeat. Then… eat like it’s a sport of its own. 🍳🥐☕️

No regrets though—earned every bite after that kind of effort. That’s the real balance: push hard, recover harder.

DCS Half Marathon ‘26

Beautiful course, amazing scenery .. but don’t be deceived 😂
Uphills, bridges, tunnels and uneven pavement will test your legs and mindset.

Ajman Duathlon became my first race of 2026.

An Achilles injury tried to take this one away, then came the reschedule — giving me time to recover.

Still learning the triathlon bike, still building confidence, and still finding those aero moments 📸 😆

Not perfect. Not easy.
