As women continue to occupy important positions in the society, it is important we remember to acknowledge, accommodate, make way, recognize, support, empower the next woman because we also break the bias by seeing one another as we want to be seen, hear her as your want to be heard.

It was with an honor and humility to have the Mayor of Marbella Alcadesa @angelesmunoz recognize our work at women’s world show & Remedios Bocanegra the councillor for foreign residents present, was truly empowering to me and to many.

Every continent has a story to tell about itself and then there is the story the world tells about it.

But what happens when the storytellers meet?

When African and European creatives, cultural leaders, entrepreneurs and visionaries come together not simply to exchange stories, but to create new possibilities from them?

For our inaugural edition, we made a deliberate decision to take the conversation beyond the room.

Rather than allowing geography to limit who can be part of the first Narrativa EAC, we are bringing the room to the world, creating the space to welcome the calibre of voices, perspectives and storytellers this vision deserves.

This year’s theme, “Homecoming: Bridging the Divide from the Diaspora to Africa’s Future,” couldn’t be more meaningful to me.

As a Nigerian living in Europe, I have spent years sharing the stories of Africans in the diaspora our journeys, our challenges, our successes, and the incredible impact we are making around the world.

Now, I have the privilege of bringing those stories to one of Africa’s leading diaspora platforms.

I will be speaking about the role of Africans in Europe and how storytelling can become a bridge for collaboration, opportunity, investment, and lasting connections between Africa and Europe.

This is also the heart behind Narrativa EAC, creating spaces where our stories don’t just inspire, but spark partnerships, innovation, and meaningful change.

We say,, “I want to start a business, but…” , “I want to move, but…”, “I want to leave, but…”

“I want to create, but…”, and sometimes the “but” isn’t actually fear, It’s waiting for somebody else to approve the decision.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth: The people you are waiting for may never fully understand what you see.

A connection
An introduction
A piece of knowledge
A seat at the table
An opportunity

If you have built a network in Europe who can you connect to Africa?

If you have learned something in another market, who can you teach?

If you’ve built a business, who can you collaborate with?

If you’ve gained access, who else can enter through that door? And access becomes more powerful when you don’t keep it to yourself.
