👋I'm waving hello from the corner of my workroom.

It feels like we have hurtled through March!
I'm still day jobbing and playing with glass inbetween.

I have been experimenting with layering glass to explore how colour and light interact and to see how shapes can sit within the glass rather than just on the surface.

Kiln schedules have been adjusted to see if the layers can hold both their line and colour within the glass.

Loving the process and the learning!
Grateful for having you here 💗
All feedback welcome x

And here we are in March🌾
It is lovely to see some of your sunshine posts on my feed💗

I have been continuing to explore working with glass and have been testing the boundaries of kiln-forming.

Here, I have been working with glass to see how I can shape it when it is hot and hold it in motion.

The final result starts to capture how glass can move in the kiln...I decided to drill two holes in the top of the piece so that I can hang it in the light. It measures 14cm x 12cm.

Hope you find it interesting...all feedback welcome!

Happy February 🌱 everyone.

I have been moving towards a more exploratory, artistic practice and am really enjoying the process.
I hope you will bear with me. All feedback welcome💗

For this project I used all of my available kiln space and the finished piece measures 28cm tall by 12cm wide by 7cm deep...so bigger than my usual pieces.

I started by cutting a piece of ceramic paper into vertical, tree like forms and sealing them inside the glass with the heat from the kiln. The paper is held inside the glass layers rather than applied to the surface.

This created a flat piece and I then bent the glass to form a deep cylinder to echo the shape of a tree trunk.

To do this I created a cylindrical mould and fired the glass onto it.

I really enjoyed experimenting and will post some process photos in my stories over the coming days. Let me know what you think💗

It's been a while since I have posted any glass pieces so it's lovely to share this with you today. A glass curve made of layered glass with blue and black strips and metal inclusions. I was thinking of walks in woods in late autumn sunshine when I was working on this piece.

I have been admiring all of your beautiful autumn and Christmas makes and hope to start posting a few more pieces soon. It has been a combination of too much daytime job plus an adjustment to the shorter days. I have started 6am swimming which is helping my energy levels 🤞🤞

Thanks for looking as always 💗⭐️⭐️💗

Whoohoo! It's Friday (at last) and very nearly the weekend. Autumn is in full swing and the colours are gorgeous. In between the busyness of life, I have made a glass autumnal landscape piece based on the colours of the fields near us.
Various pieces coloured glass are layered and then fused twice in the kiln to give the texture and deep curve. I snuck in a piece of iridescent glass which gives a silver sheen to one of the layers, but the camera doesn't quite capture it!
Hoping to have a long walk over these fields this weekend and wishing you lots of autumnal loveliness too.

It really does feel like summer! A day off today (phew!) and it's lovely to be able to share my latest piece with you. I think I am dreaming of a trip to the beach and a swim in the sea! I selected eight different shades of blue and green glass and layered them and shaped them to produce this deep curve in the kiln. I have signed it discreetly so you know it was made by me. It was such fun to create! It measures 10cm wide, 7cm deep, 10cm high and comes with an extra large tealight (and why not 🤣). Sea vibes incoming to my Etsy shop. I am going to spend time in the garden today catching up with your lovely accounts. Hope you all have a fab Friday 💕💕💕 by @claraglassbelle

It's been a while since I posted! There has been too much day job, not enough glass time and I have been feeling a bit frazzled😬
I know this busy time at work will pass, but it reduces the amount of time I can spend making glass, which is definitely my happy place.
That said, I have managed to create this glass leaf piece...inspired by the Eleagnus shrub in my garden which shines a bright yellow in the sunshine.
It was lovely to spend some time cutting and shaping glass. I worked some silver foil into the glass layers too. The finished leaf is quite long...23cms...and can hold a small candle/large tealight.
Making this has made me happy (because I am mad about glass) and I hope you like it too. Let me know!
I love reading your comments.
It's been lovely to share and have a chat, hopefully the workload will ease soon, but for now it's back to work xxx 🙃💗💗

I cannot believe it is Thursday already. The weeks are whizzing by! I am really enjoying the sunshine and this piece is my response to the brilliance of the light that I saw recently in a bluebell wood. I wanted to capture the colour combinations in glass and I created this fairly large curve that is full of texture and colourful ripples. It looks wonderful in the light, and like all my curves, it glows in the evening with a tealight or small candle placed behind. Just looking at it makes me happy, which is a very good thing at the moment because the day job is very tiring. Thank goodness for glassmaking! And sunshine! Hope you are all enjoying a beautiful sunshine week🥰

Hello everyone. I hope you have enjoying the sunshine. I have been glass working this week to capture my sunny garden in glass and I just wanted to share my latest piece with you. This fused glass flower garden was such fun to make, experimenting with kiln schedules to create the deepest curve and maintain lots glass ripples and texture. It contains seven different colours of glass and is quite a sizable piece measuring 12cm x 12cm with a deep curve of 8cm. You can place a large tealight or small candle behind it in the evening to create a lovely glow. If this piece is calling to you it is in my Etsy shop and comes with free gift wrap and a large tealight so you can use it straight away. I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and warmer weather. Not long to the weekend 🥰

⭐ Shoutout No.1 ⭐
As promised here’s a closer look at my Birthday Treat No. 1

This is a huge shoutout and a closer look at what I purchased as my first treat from my birthday spending spree a few weeks ago.

I chose four small businesses to support, and this gorgeous piece from @claraglassbelle handmade by the lovely Clare, was the very first to catch my eye.

This Fused Glass Autumn Leaf was crafted by Clare using five different colors of glass, each cut by hand and carefully arranged into a stunning autumn-inspired design. 🍂 The rich mix of browns, reds, golden yellow, purple, and green gives it such a cozy, earthy feel - a touch of autumn beauty brought to life in glass.

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons, so this piece really stood out to me.
I’ve included a photo of me holding it so you can get a better sense of the size - it’s about 20cm long and beautifully detailed. It makes such a warm, eye-catching addition to my home😊
Thank you, Clare, for your amazing craftsmanship!💜
If you don’t already follow Clare, I definitely recommend you checking out her amazing handmade glass products and leave her some love and follow if you love her work💜
Enjoy your evening
