Sailing through the third longest river in the world, the Yangtze River, for 5D4N was so surreal 🤭🤍

Waking up to a different view every morning — one day you’re docked at a small, sleepy town filled with history…

And the next you’re sailing through endless stretches of mountains with lush green forests 🌳 It was a gloomy day here, and I can only imagine how beautiful it’ll be with clear, cloudless blue skies!

What I found most fascinating was learning about the history beneath these waters. With the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, over a million people were relocated to higher ground as entire towns and villages became submerged.

It’s quite surreal to think that what we see as a vast stretch of water today was once home to thriving communities, streets and everyday life. a whole other world beneath the surface, and so much history to uncover.

Gorgeous autumnal colours coming in 🍁

The way nature carved out these landscapes over millions of years… feeling incredibly tiny in comparison 🥹

Had a chance to go on land to admire Qutang Gorge from a different perspective! fun fact: this iconic view is actually featured on China’s ¥10 banknote. pretty surreal seeing it in person!!!

birthday weekend 🎂 doing a bunch of lowkey things I love with a handful of people I adore <3

another year around the sun — a little older, maybe a little wiser, and more aware of who I am and who I’m becoming. I’ve lived through enough to know what truly matters to me, what brings me joy, what I stand for, the people I want around me and the kind of life I want to create.

but I’m also realising that knowing yourself doesn’t mean having yourself completely figured out. I’m still finding parts of myself along the way — going to therapy, learning to heal old wounds and nurture my inner child, unlearning things I’ve carried for years, and trying to understand myself with a little more compassion.

this past year has also asked me to slow down in ways I didn’t expect. navigating an autoimmune disease has changed my relationship with my body, and I’m still learning how to work with it rather than against it. some days feel like progress, others don’t — and I’m learning to make space for both.

I think maybe growing older is less about becoming a finished version of yourself, and more about getting closer to who you really are.

grateful for everything that has shaped me, everything I’ve outgrown, and all the parts of myself I’m still getting to know 🤍

here’s to another year of choosing a life that feels like mine.
