We visited the @the_london_illustration_fair at the weekend and were very happy to see this beautiful set of prints we created for artist @claralacy
These are archival giclee prints taken from Clara's original pencil drawings, enhanced with a screenprinted layer of varnish with graphite powder mixed in.

Really pleased to be launching the full set of prints from my show last year, 'The World Has Dropped its Petals' at this year's @the_london_illustration_fair on the weekend.

The prints were a labour of love to find the right process to create pieces that have the character of the original drawings but with their own uniqueness.

It's always a pleasure working with the wonderful Lynne @hippo_screenprinters to develop this limited edition by using a high-quality giclee print with a hand-pulled layer of graphite.

New work created for “This Is Dedicated To The One I Love”, an auction curated by @laurenestellejonesart for @artonapostcard in aid of ⁠#hepatitisctrust.

The two images I created are quite dedication to my mother and sister, the dappled shadows gently fluctuating in a subtle breeze on hot summer days we’ve spent together in Greece.

‘Adelfi’ (Greek for “sister”) traces the shifting shade of bougainvillea, its blooms casting kaleidoscopic forms. It is a visual love letter to my sister and the joyful rituals we share—swimming in crystalline waters, reading in dappled shade, and growing together. Like the bougainvillea, she is vibrant, resilient, and generous, blooming fully even in the most challenging conditions.

“My current work explores nature’s fragility and resilience and how it’s responding to a changing environment.

I’m always drawn to flowers’ evocative transience. I find it interesting how all species see the world differently. How we experience flowers is very different from a bee or a bird, therefore taking away the colour by working in graphite, as a way for us to view from a different perspective, where form, texture and the subject become more significant.

Using photos I’d taken in lockdown, marvelling at how, in the absence of human interference, nature rebounded in the parks and unmown verges near where I lived in East London. This body of work took 4 years to complete, with each drawing taking around 4 months, and was a labour of love and dedication to the subject and my passion for nature.”
