for the past few weeks, my mantra has basically been “me and my laptop against the world.”

i’ve been so busy with work and trying to build something for the next chapter of my career that i’ve barely looked up from my screen. so i’m extra grateful my aunt-in-law somehow managed to get me out of the house and into the real world for a little while 😂

ofc, my brain still had other plans because i’ve been thinking about the series i still need to finish, the series i still need to start, and Ryan Shay, who i fear i’ll never recover from because i’ve been rereading some of the best moments from The Right Move.

really grateful for a little weekend reset at a resort, courtesy of my aunt-in-law, and a little farewell hangout before she heads back to the US. i’m really going to miss her.

started binding 13 over the weekends and finished it last night, and i really enjoyed it 🫶

i especially loved the dialogue, banter, and humor. like, there were SO many long conversations in every chapter, but i was invested every single time and never once felt bored. it never felt dragged out either bc every conversation felt necessary, especially when it came to getting to know the characters and understanding them better.

and JOHNNY KAVANAGH?!! 🫠 strong-willed, controlled, and so mature beyond his years. at 17, he’s already such a better man than most boys his age. like, even i had a hard time believing he was only 17 bc the way he carries himself feels so much older. and if i had to compare him to the book boyfriends i’ve met, if this were a dystopian, he’d be aaron warner, and if this were a fantasy, he’d be rhysand which, by the way, is my book husband. so johnny kavanagh has officially entered the ranks, but ofc , i’d still consider him my baby, my babyboy, honeybee 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↔️💖

and my girl SHANNON 🥺 i just want to hug her and never let her go. that’s it. that’s the review. she went through so much, and i just wanted to protect her the whole time.

then i bulldozed into keeping 13, and by 14% i was already annoyed bc WHY are we making this so much harder than it needs to be? 😭 i’m already so attached and just want to fix everything.

hello lovies,

in case you’ve been wondering why i’ve been radio silent lately, i got married four days ago, and im currently sharing a little preview while we wait for the official wedding gallery.

the past few weeks have been a whirlwind of wedding planning, last-minute preparations, and actually living through one of the biggest days of my life. to make things even more interesting, i got sick right before the wedding, but thankfully everything still came together beautifully.

a little fun fact: my real name is Mary Claire. most people call me Claire, but online, you’ve probably known me as Clara. it started as a nickname my husband gave me when we were dating, and somehow it became the name that followed me everywhere. over the years, Clara became the name behind all my online accounts and the name many of you came to know me by.

im still soaking it all in and enjoying this new chapter, but i’ll slowly be making my way back here and catching up on all the posts, reviews, book releases, and bookish updates i’ve missed.

if you know me, you already know feyre & rhysand have been my roman empire for years. they really rewired my brain chemistry.

~ LIFE LATELY ~ just popping in with a little life update

i’ve been a little MIA since feb because real-life responsibilities have needed my full attention. there were moments when i felt completely drained, like i didn’t have a single drop of energy left for anything else. between my fiancé finally being home, our wedding planning, marriage license paperwork, seminars, and overtime at work, it sometimes felt like life was moving a hundred miles per hour and i was just trying to keep up. even with all that, i kept sneaking in little pockets of reading whenever i could, because books are the one thing that still make me feel grounded.

january wrap-up

my life in january? completely wrapped up in the throne of glass universe! i’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again, i reread heir of fire, crown of midnight, empire of storms, and kingdom of ash. thinking about all the characters has become such a part of my daily life, missing them, and feeling a little sad that i’m not part of their friend group irl. if only i could step into their world, i totally would! 🥹 even with a life outside of books, my brain is still happily living there.

i also reread acomaf because i miss feyre and rhysand so much. and one thing you should know about me, i am loyal to my first book husband, and that’s rhys. i am rhysie’s girl in every lifetime. and the right move? i actually reread it again and again and again, it’s become a lifestyle. my comfort read, part of my soul forever, because i can’t even put into words how much i love indy and ryan.

big surprise, i finished a new book, check & mate, before the month ended! i’m so proud of myself, even if i kept sneaking back into the ToG universe in between.

rn, i’m reading watch me, thoughts at 17% are in the slide. loving it and so excited for the ride ahead.

hopefully i can finally pick up OUABH and caraval series this year. also beyond excited for my anticipated romance reads and now, back to you, and in her own league.

january me is still not over the fact that i ended 2025 with the throne of glass series. like WILD. im still thinking about it, rereading scenes, dreaming about it, mentally i never left. it genuinely feels like my soul joined their journey, reclaiming kingdoms, fighting for home, bringing everything back to its rightful glory.

and i’ve been living through my friend’s ACOTAR updates, finally got someone at work to read it, and now on our breaks we’re just yapping about our bat boys, illyrians, and fae warriors. lowkey caught myself rereading some of my favorite ACOMAF scenes and yes visiting Velaris again.

also, Throne of Glass. a series i kept putting off bc of the number of books intimidating me HARD. and now i’m like… why did i ever wait??? seriously, one of the BEST series i’ve ever read in my life.

if it’s still on your tbr, let this year be the year you finally pick it up.
