People often ask what I do in my role at New Hope I have acquired skills I didn’t know I needed, tenacity, patience, creativity and resilience are just a few and am so thankful that I work with such lovely team of people. On a daily basis the day is unpredictable, the only certainty is that we open for a drop in between 8.30 - 10.30 am to support rough sleepers and those with no fixed address. This is a time for them to have a hot breakfast, a shower, clean clothes and a warm space. Staff are available to chat and appointments are made for more confidential conversations during the day. We work with a wide variety of people and agencies and could be supporting with benefits, liaising with probation, gp’s, hospitals, prisons and so much more. We are privileged to hear so many stories and offer support to help get someone back on track. Our work can be stressful as we are with vulnerable individuals some of whom have severe mental health needs and others with addiction everyone is treated with respect and our responsibility is to help rebuild dignity and self esteem and move them towards secure accommodation. We are also very proud of the work we do and are happy to showcase The Haven day centre, and @watfordcouncil Winter Shelter and welcome guests and volunteers,at all our services, to explain more about the charity and challenges faced. We get to collaborate and work witj complimentary charities including @haircuts4homelessukwatford @changegrowliveuk @emergingfuturescic @oneimpossiblething to name just a few. Just yesterday we welcomed @mattturmaine along with Elodie M. Pierce Culliton and had the opportunity to show them around. Our work doesn’t stop because it’s Christmas and at this time of year we will do our best too provide a festive celebration to all those we work with. This weekend, something amazing happened - @pinkribbonfoundation along with @something_to_look_forward_to officially opened a holiday caravan called 'Eve's Place'! at @parkdeanresorts #Hunstanton The purchase of an eight-berth caravan at @parkdeanresorts at Manor Park, Hunstanton will allow families affected by breast cancer the opportunity to have a free holiday. In memory of Eve Morrison, 'Eve's Place' was purchased in whole with a donation left in the will of Eve and with a top up grant from the @pinkribbonfoundation of which Eve was an ardent supporter. If you are affected by breast cancer and would benefit from a break, you can apply through Something To Look Forward to 😊 📸 Ian Burt #hunstanton #hunstantonbeach #northnorfolkcoast #parkdeanresorts #caravanholiday #breastcancer #breastcancersupport #somethingtolookforwardto #pinkribbon #charity #ambassador #gift4good #teamprf #refugee #kindertransport #legacy by @clarateddy

It was so lovely to visit @parkerandhammond Opticians today and see them showing their support for the @pinkribbonfoundation during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💕 As both a customer of Parker & Hammond and an ambassador for the Pink Ribbon Foundation, it means so much to see local businesses getting behind such an important cause and helping to raise awareness and support those affected by breast cancer. 💗 A huge thank you to the team at Parker & Hammond for their kindness, generosity and for helping shine a light on the incredible work the charity does. Every bit of support makes a difference, and it’s wonderful to see businesses using their platform to make a positive impact. 🎀✨ Throughout October Parker and Hammond are donating £20 per pair of glasses purchased through their practices.
