i love this song, i’ve had this idea in my brain for some time now. i’ve always gravitated to spider web imagery as i’ve felt so stuck in a bad place. eventually you make your way out, or you don’t & you get eaten by a spider. i love the lyric “you make take my eyes, but baby im not blind” … you can never take away what ive been through & learned through those hard lessons. i will always have my wisdom. 🕸️💚

this was really fun to create this past week. my whole life i’ve been told i was dealt a bad hand. fuck that. i don’t see it necessarily as bad luck anymore. i constantly have my strength & resilience tested. my story wouldn’t be mine without all the bad & the good. amalgam means mixture; im the blend of everything ive been through. the bad made me bitter, the good has kept me sweet. i need both to be me.

two years ago today i realized i had to quit drinking. i was in danger. i tried to stop before, ive tried to cut back; but all roads lead back to black out. there’s nothing i wanted more than to numb me from my past. deep down i’ve always cared about what happened to me. my child self was screaming for change. July 1, 2024
after a long bender i decided to quit cold turkey.

throughout these two years ive been tested. just bartending was a big enough test. i unfortunately got into a really tough relationship. through this relationship, through quitting booze i lost friends. some homies i really miss. the relationship was very controlling & ultimately caused me to lose my job. i bounced around restaurants never really getting to settle. so i left the serving industry & got into cannabis. during my first week i crashed my car & rekindled with my twin. i met really amazing people at that job, but still wasn’t what i needed. i ended up landing a great bartending gig & have learned so much. the job completely changed my tune about the town i moved back too. at the beginning of the new job my relationship fell apart completely & then i lost my grandpa.

so much pain throughout these two years. i never gave in. this is just the beginning. here’s to forever. may that version of me never see the light of day again. thank you to all the homies that had my back.
