Last Christmas, during a night out, one of our friends suggested that Trish Taylor Thompson and I should start a podcast!! Mad idea! Who would want to listen to us? What would we talk about? And yet. 23 episodes later and over 3,500 downloads, our podcast, Life's what you make it, has become something that we are both very proud of. Our podcast listeners, are loving our conversation and learning from our nuggets on making the most of your life as you get older. They are engaged by our positivity and have told us that they feel "joyous" after they listen. We've also been shortlisted for an Age Friendly Ireland Award 🌟 On this rainy ⛈️ Sunday afternoon, take 20/25 minutes to take a listen. If you like the podcast, be sure to follow us on spotify or apple and maybe share it with someone who you think might need a bit more joy in their lives. https://lnkd.in/eBEJE4Qb #positiveaging #longevity #lifeswhatyoumakeit #podcast by @clarenceconsult
Delighted with this piece in the @limerickleader at the weekend. We're really going through a bit of a purple patch! 💜 We had our first guest on last weeks episode, @barbarascully111 and our figures have gone through the roof. Barbara spoke about the challenges of aging but more importantly about the fun and thrill she has experienced from trying something new like Stand-up Comedy. Barbara is breezing through her 60's with a joie de vivre and an appetite for trying new things. She judged a dog show last weekend! We met the judges for the @agefriendlyireland awards last week and we were so motivated and excited afterwards. This is only the beginning! We're really looking forward to the Awards Ceremony which is being held in the @limerickstrandhotel in October. Thanks a million to @nick_rabbitts for the LL piece! by @clarenceconsult
Writer, Broadcaster, and Domestic Goddess, Barbara Scully joins the conversation in making the most of what she calls ‘Part 3’ of our lives. The art of reinvention is at the heart of her success but most importantly, taking charge of one’s own life. Her no nonsense, take no prisoners approach in making the most of the final furlong rings true for those of us who agree wholeheartedly that ‘Life is What You Make It’. Barbara is our special guest for Episode 19. Don’t miss it! #lifeswhatyoumakeit #positiveaging #lifeswhatyoumakeit #longevity by @clarenceconsult
Myself and Trish Taylor Thompson are incredibly proud to share that Life’s what you make it has been shortlisted for an Age Friendly Ireland Recognition & Achievement Award in the Communication category. 💚 When Trish and I started this podcast, we simply wanted to create the conversations we felt were missing—honest, hopeful chats about life after 50 that celebrate possibility, creativity, friendship and joy. To be recognised alongside such inspiring initiatives from across Ireland is a huge honour. Thank you to everyone who has listened, shared an episode, recommended us to a friend, or sent us a message. Your encouragement reminds us why these conversations matter. Life really is what you make it. 💚 The Awards final will take place in Limerick in October. Keep listening wherever you get your podcasts. #AgeFriendlyIreland #PositiveAgeing #LifesWhatYouMakeIt #CommunicationMatters #AgeingWell Podcast Limerick ItsNeverTooLate by @clarenceconsult
I’ve so much news, I don’t know where to start! I really don’t want to lose the importance of all the progress myself and Trish Taylor Thompson have made over the last few months with our podcast Life's what you make it, so there will definitely be a few posts on this over the next few days. We started this podcast as a challenge to ourselves and as an opportunity to have some fun. Most importantly, we wanted to start a new conversation about getting older. We wanted to give a voice to people who are getting older, but we wanted that voice to be full of: 🌟enthusiasm, 🌟fun, 🌟enjoyment and 🌟hope. We have 18 episodes in total so far and we’re getting stronger. This week, Lucy White included us in her “If you only do One thing……. Hotlist” in the Irish Independent. It’s online now and will be in the physical paper on Sunday too. I’d love you to read Lucy’s piece where she gives great insights in her Explore one thing, book one thing, eat one thing and of course Hear One Thing! https://www.independent.ie/.../if-you.../a/158802482.html So if you do One Thing this weekend, please listen to our podcast, you won’t regret it! And a big Thank You to Lucy for the shout-out. #longevity #positiveaging #podcast #careercoach by @clarenceconsult
Last December, a friend suggested that Trish Taylor Thompson and I should start a podcast together. We laughed and we joked about it over Christmas drinks. The festive spirit had us imagining all the things we'd talk about. By the end of the night, we had more ideas than we knew what to do with. But sure the next morning we’d have forgotten all about it, we'd never actually do it... Except... we did. Life's what you make it is now on Episode 16, with over 2,000+ downloads with listeners across Ireland, the UK, the USA and beyond. What has surprised us most isn't the numbers….. it's the connection and the feedback and that people are still listening! Some messages said: "I love it. It's so calm and conversational. I feel like I'm sitting down for tea or coffee with you both." "Listening to you is like catching up in your kitchen over a cuppa." "It's a real tonic." "The spontaneous humour and laughter between you both is just gorgeous." “It really got me thinking about a lot of things. Most importantly, I need to get out and do more things”. This feedback means the world to us because that's exactly what we hoped the podcast would feel like... two friends having honest conversations about life after 50, with plenty of laughs along the way. One week, we even found ourselves sitting in Apple's Top 10 alongside Michelle Obama and Mel Robbins. We had to look twice! And we're only getting started. Later this month we'll be sharing some very exciting news that we can't reveal just yet.. but trust me, you'll want to hear it first. 🎧 If you've been meaning to give the podcast a listen, now is the perfect time to start over the summer. And if you're already enjoying it, could I ask one small favour? Please follow/subscribe on Apple or Spotify today. Every new subscriber helps more people discover the podcast, and it means you'll be the first to hear our upcoming announcement when it drops. If you've enjoyed an episode, we'd also love if you could leave a rating or review and share it with someone who might enjoy a good chat over their morning coffee. Thank you for being part of this adventure. We honestly couldn't do it without you by @clarenceconsult
When myself and Trish Taylor Thompson decided to start a podcast, we had no idea that people would listen, be inspired and would want to share their stories and experiences with us too. We are now on Episode 10, and every weekend we're trending in the Top 10 Apple podcasts in the Self-Improvement sector and also quite highly in the Education Sector. If you haven't listened yet, please do, you won't be disappointed. We have a laugh and you might found out some interesting nuggets that might help you as you face in to your later years......... and we might inspire you to really believe that Life's what you make it! Be sure to follow/subscribe to the show on apple and spotify and share it with your friends and in your whatsapp groups. This podcast is too good to keep for yourself! #careercoachlimerick by @clarenceconsult
Isn't it what we're all looking for....... a sense of belonging? To find our tribe? I've been a member of the ICF and @icfireland since 2015. As Bernard Chanliau, ICF MCC said to me "we're veterans"!! Last Thursday, I attended "Coaching le cheile", a great event that included insights on the coaching industry globally, a practice session on micro-coaching and a really impactful presentation and demonstration by Narrative 4 Ireland. It was an extremely social event, and I got to make new connections and catch-up with some "old" connections too. Having been to an event earlier in the year (not a coaching event!) that was too long and too packed with speakers, this event was pitched perfectly. Great speakers, great interaction and plenty of time for coffee and chatting. Well done ICF Ireland. Thanks to David O'Grady MCIPD, ACC for the photo!! #careercoachlimerick @trishandval #lifeswhatyoumakeit #coaching #belonging by @clarenceconsult
