Yesterday’s parties…

I love photography for what it does long after the party is over. The music may stop, the lights may come up, and the room may empty—but a photograph can hold that moment in place and give it a life far beyond the night itself.

Photography has the power to create a lasting cultural impression, becoming a time capsule as powerful as the music that defined the moment. It preserves not just what happened, but how it felt—who was there, what was happening, and what the moment meant.

And that’s why I’m grateful for the photographers. Their firsthand captures keep our memories, conversations, and history honest. They document the energy in real time, giving us something tangible to return to years later.

These photos are the art of Pete Larson. Thank you for your eye and patience. And thank you to all the photographers who understand that they’re not just taking pictures—they’re preserving moments, culture, and history. taken in Tv Lounge by @clarkdrivecreative

HEAR HERE — FALL EDITION

The seasons change. The music keeps moving. Saturday, October 17th • Hear Here returns to the iconic TV Lounge for its Fall edition, the party series created by Detroit DJ, producer, singer and creative force sillygirlcarmen—where the music is the message, the dance floor is the destination, and every set is built for people who came to move. Carmen has always approached Hear Here as more than a DJ party. It’s an exercise in discovery, connection and creative freedom—bringing Detroit’s rich musical history into conversation with what’s happening next. Her sets are soulful, unpredictable, urgent and deeply responsive to the room. Old classics can collide with new sounds, grooves can turn corners you didn’t see coming, and somehow the whole thing makes perfect sense once you’re moving.

That same vibe runs through this Fall edition with two selectors who fit the Hear Here philosophy perfectly.

DISC JOCKEY GEORGE brings his groove-heavy, unpredictable approach to the floor—a selector’s selector and the force behind the legendary ABAP parties. Expect deep musical knowledge, left turns, and the kind of set that keeps you wondering where he’s taking you next.

KRW brings the soul. A Detroit DJ, dancer and co-founder of Detroit House Collective, her sets move through soulful house, deep grooves, warm vocals and unexpected bursts of energy. Her mission is simple: connect people through music—and she knows exactly how to make a room move together.

Three incredible selectors.
One iconic venue. One dance floor. One groove.

Some shows are made for a venue. Tinlicker at Saint Andrew’s Hall is one of them.

If you know Tinlicker, you already know. If you don’t, this is a pretty great place to start.

For more than a decade, the Dutch duo turned trio has been creating electronic music that lives somewhere between the dancefloor and the heart. Deep, melodic, cinematic and emotional — Tinlicker can take you from hands-in-the-air euphoria to that beautiful, bittersweet feeling that sneaks up on you somewhere around the third track.

And they don’t just make electronic music — they build it with real instruments, live performance and an anything-goes approach to sound. Their massive Because You Move Me has passed 1 billion streams, but there’s a whole lot more to discover beyond the hit.

Which is exactly why Saint Andrew’s Hall feels right.

For generations, this room has been a Detroit gathering place for music that pushes forward — from punk and grunge to hip-hop and electronic music. Nirvana played here. The White Stripes came through. Eminem sharpened his skills downstairs at The Shelter. Saint Andrew’s has always been a place where artists and audiences meet in close quarters and something happens.

Tinlicker belongs in that tradition.

And if you want to experience it Thursday, I’ve got 10 FREE TICKETS to give away for September 17.

First come, first served. Hit my inbox.
If you already know Tinlicker, you know what’s coming.
If you don’t? Come find out.

TONIGHT • Detroit gets a very different kind of night out.

Arlo Parks brings her beautifully restless world to Lincoln Factory—where intimate songwriting, poetry, soulful melodies and the pulse of the club all collide. From Mercury Prize-winning artist to poet, Grammy nominations and Brit Awards, storyteller and fearless musical explorer, Parks has built a sound that can be tender one minute and completely euphoric the next.

Her newest chapter leans hard into the night: UK garage, breakbeats, house, techno, shimmering synths and the freedom of losing yourself on a dance floor. Think Larry Levan, Burial, The Streets, LCD Soundsystem and Theo Parrish filtered through Parks’ deeply personal, cinematic songwriting.

And it’s happening TONIGHT.

Come experience an artist who has never been afraid to follow her curiosity—and a room built for getting lost in the music.

Tonight • Lincoln Factory • Detroit

And of course, MeanRed Productions and lead Jen Lyon are at it again—always finding a way to bring something new, unexpected and creatively ambitious to the table.

re- HALLOWEEN TURN UP at TV LOUNGE

Halloween will officially arrives at midnight. We’re starting the party early.

BROOKLYN OG MIKE DELGADO makes his TV LOUNGE DEBUT, bringing decades of New York house history with him. A true underground lifer who was there alongside Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez before Masters At Work became legendary—and a producer who came up alongside names like Todd Terry.

Detroit answers with three heavy hitters in support:

LADYMONIX — deep, disco, soulful and funky. Baltimore roots, LA underground, Detroit home. One of the city’s most distinctive selectors and the force behind Frizner Electric.

BRUCE BAILEY — Detroit House royalty. Collecting vinyl since the early ’80s, building legendary underground nights and keeping dancefloors moving for decades. If you know TV, party in Detroit, you know Bruce.

WHERETHEFLOWERSGROW — Afrofuturism, house, techno and boundary-pushing sounds. A sonic time traveler ready to take the floor somewhere unexpected.

DELGADO • LADYMONIX • BAILEY • WHERETHEFLOWERSGROW
Four different perspectives. One serious house party. Halloween officially will arrive at midnight.

The treats are waiting on the dancefloor.
