🔥 A legend that refuses to die.One of the biggest stars of Ultrace 2026 was undoubtedly Rusty Slammington—the legendary BMW E28 created by Mike Burroughs, founder of StanceWorks. Years after becoming an internet icon, seeing this car in person is still something special.At first glance, it looks like an abandoned race car pulled straight from another era. Burnt patina, enormous Group 5-style wide arches, an aggressive front splitter, massive rear wheels, and iconic center-lock BBS Motorsport wheels create one of the most recognizable builds in automotive history.But Rusty is far more than just its appearance…🏁 The story behind Rusty SlammingtonOriginally built as a slammed rat-look E28, the car was almost completely destroyed in a garage fire in 2011. Instead of scrapping it, Mike Burroughs decided to rebuild it from the ground up, creating something the world had never seen before. (StanceWorks⁠Attachment.png)The finished project features:▪️ A completely custom tube-frame chassis▪️ A body inspired by legendary Group 5 race cars▪️ A shortened wheelbase and two-door conversion▪️ Authentic center-lock BBS E57 motorsport wheels▪️ Race-inspired pushrod suspensionUnder the hood sits a naturally aspirated BMW S38 race engine, built to rev to 9,000 rpm and produce around 500 HP, inspired by the legendary BMW M1 Procar race engine.
