sometimes I’m creating core memories that I can revisit in the middle of winter. I try to slow everything down to take specific note of what it feels like to be in the sun on the porch or to watch the butterflies flit around the front garden. sometimes I’m just trying to be grateful for the time I’ve had and the animals I’ve been allowed to know. If you have livestock, you’ll have dead stock. For me, that doesn’t get easier ever. I learned a lot from Mopsy and Flopsy and I think my heart might forever ache that Flopsy lost her sister.
