The last 3 years have been filled with challenges but what always got me through is seeing my students smile and their confidence grow stronger through the arts. It is so powerful, especially during a time when kids were forced to stay home behind a screen. They needed a way to connect through a shared passion. Fortunately, this is very easy to do with acting, singing and dancing while in opposite sides of the world.

Thank you @zoom for helping me create a safe space for performers of all ages to either try theatre for the first time or practice their craft from another country. I’ve worked with students from 9 different countries and have learned so much from them and about my own performing skills. There were things I found myself repeating that my teachers would say to me that I didn’t fully understand until I started teaching every day. There were concepts, tricks and techniques that I couldn’t fully grasp until a student needed to use it.

Never had a chance to post about my Byram Hills High School students performing Cinderella! This set created by Danielle Shultz was stunning! Loved being back at my Alma Matter to challenge these performers with difficult waltzing and jumps! They definitely exceeded my expectations once it was showtime!

It’s amazing to me that once that house is filled with an audience, these kids will bring the fire like it’s the 50th anniversary of the Tony Awards!! Could never have done it without my amazing partner in crime, @gracekellykretzmer ! 🥳🤩❤️😘 she choreographed everything while simultaneously performing as Nina in In The Heights! 🙌 taken in Tarrytown Music Hall by @classwithlauryn

I’ve been a bit busy lately producing this amazing piece that deserves more attention and praise! On a whim I messaged @zebraadam and said I’ve been dying to bring this show to @tarrytownmusichall . A contemporary musical about Ichabod Crane in the heart of Sleepy Hollow, who could ask for more the night before Halloween! 🎃

The fastest gig I ever experienced. The summer was here and gone in a flash. When I said yes to directing 4 children’s shows, a dance intensive and a Class With Lauryn Weekend Workshop - I never anticipated someone asking if I wanted to dance on Broadway for a one night only Chorus Line anniversary performance. I almost missed soundcheck but I don’t think anyone noticed 🫣🤫 I couldn’t find my shoes from 12pm-7pm and walked back and forth from tech to my student cabaret in my jazz shoes. Thank you @joeychancey @david.grin @baayork ❤️ The gift was ours to borrow 😘
