Every Pride Month, people ask what I’m celebrating.

Honestly?

A fairly normal life.

One where Archu still rolls her eyes at my jokes, Zac and Zia continue their daily mission to occupy every available inch on the bed, not allowing my skin to breathe, and the biggest debate most days is what’s for dinner (oh no sorry, just one bite of the yummiest dessert of the day!!).

For a long time, that kind of normal wasn’t something everyone could take for granted.

Maybe that’s why Pride still matters.

To me, Pride has never been about being louder than everyone else.
It’s about never having to make yourself smaller for anyone else.
It’s about having the freedom to live honestly, love openly, laugh loudly, and introduce the people who matter most, without hesitation or explanation.

And perhaps that’s the quiet beauty of Pride.
It reminds us that being proud of who you are isn’t something reserved for June.
It isn’t a parade, a hashtag, or a month on the calendar.

It’s an everyday decision.

A lifelong promise to yourself that you’ll never apologise for your truth, never shrink to fit someone else’s idea of normal, and never stop believing that everyone deserves the same freedom to simply be.

Thank you Archu, Zac & Zia for being MY Pride.
I celebrate you, EVERY DAY

Happy Pride folks 🏳️‍🌈

As generative AI becomes increasingly embedded within contemporary image-making and cultural production, artists are confronted with a complicated set of questions: How might one engage these tools critically, without surrendering authorship, agency or ethics?

Humans in the Slop was a participatory workshop and conversation that explores these tensions through collective practice rather than prescription. The session was part of Imaginative Intelligences with G5A: The Origin of Thought, curated by Animela and facilitated by Aayushman Pandey.

Participants co-created an exquisite corpse-style music video for creative commons music, in this case, @nineinchnails ’ “Discipline”. Each participant directed one segment using methods of their choosing—whether heavily AI-assisted, minimally augmented, entirely analogue, or somewhere in between. In doing so, each creative decision becomes a site for considering labour, authorship, consent, environmental cost, aesthetics and value.

The final work emerged as a fragmented, playful and collectively authored portrait of contemporary artistic ambivalence.

Innovation has no borders—and neither do the women leading change.

Honoured to have our co-founder, Archana Trasy, join an inspiring panel at “Innovation Sans Frontières: Science, Creativity and Enterprise” hosted by the Consulate General of France in Mumbai.

The discussion brought together remarkable voices across science, creativity, business, and entrepreneurship to explore how ideas and collaboration can shape a better future.

Special thanks to the French Consulate for also appreciating the WWI student volunteers at AniMela, whose enthusiasm and support made the festival even more vibrant.

I began my career at a top automobile company right after graduation. I was just 19, closeted, and unsure of how to navigate corporate life as a queer person. My parents were supportive, but I was scared of being judged by others. People still questioned my appearance, my short hair, and the “tomboy” style.

But everything changed when I moved to an event management company. I spent 15 incredible years there and also got to lead international projects. The media and entertainment world was a different universe; it was relaxed, creative, and far more accepting. For the first time, I found queer colleagues, allies, and a sense of belonging.

This was between 1996 and 2007. Global trends were shifting, younger folks were more open, and people were starting to talk about identity in ways they hadn’t before. My coming out wasn’t dramatic.

In 1996, the company where I worked was organising this big music concert, and passes were limited. I wanted my girlfriend to attend, but I didn’t want her to come in on a crew badge as a friend. I wanted her there as my partner, just like any other colleague’s partner.

So I went to my boss and said, “I need an extra pass for my girlfriend.” He laughed and said, “Only because you said that, I’ll give it to you.”

Now, I run my own agency, where I design large-scale events and brand IPs. The best part? I can fully be myself. I hire queer talent, do my best to create safe spaces, and try to be the support I once needed.

Back in the ’90s, coming out could’ve cost you your job. Today, it’s heartwarming to see people share their pronouns proudly, talk about being queer, poly, or non-binary, and find community in ways I never could growing up. It’s not perfect, but the shift is massive. I’m grateful to those who paved the way and I try to keep the chain going, creating room for others to live and thrive.

Three years of tail wags, face licks, mischief, and more love than we knew was possible.

Our sweetest girl Zia turns 3 today, and she’s still the same goofy, headstrong, endlessly curious little tornado who stole our hearts. She’s the reason our shoes go missing, the couch has holes, and the phone is full of blurry zoomies and nap-face photos.

She’s also the wiggliest welcome home, our partner in snack crimes, and the softest, most stubborn little soul who somehow knows exactly when we need a cuddle.

Happy birthday, Z. Our life’s just better with you in it. Actually, it’s pawfect with you in it!!!❤️ by @classytrasy
