Clauda is pleased to invite you to the opening of the solo show by Tereza Kalousová, with accompanying text by Eva Slabá. ✨ Tereza Kalousová: Sorority Text: Eva Slabá Opening: Tuesday, September 15 | 18:00 16.9 – 24.10.2026 Guided tour during The Prague Art Week: 24.9.2026, 16:00 Clauda, Veverkova 28, Prague Solid wood, leather mats, glossy strands of hair, upholstery buttons. A quiet, visually appealing, and clinically clean environment with its own set of rules. Tereza Kalousová’s solo exhibition Sorority presents a new series of wall-mounted and freestanding objects that straddle the line between the human figure, furniture, and architecture. Rather than an aggressive vision of a technological future, Sorority offers a refined world based on the meticulous removal of anything that might disrupt its flawless operation. Friction gives way to smoothness, exhaustion is replaced by wellness, and doubts are soothed by a harmonious allure. In this space the body is reduced to a symbol, while coherent forms take on an unexpectedly visceral quality. Perfect optimization is within reach. All that remains is the question of acceptance. We are thrilled to announce that Clauda is starting to represent Šimon Sýkora. His paintings are shaped by the clash between the ordinary and the strange, between reality and a magical experience of it—an experience largely influenced by the artist’s own rambles through nature. Although Sýkora bases his works on concrete motifs and everyday activities, his images are psychologically dense, permeated with surprising details and an ambivalent tension between calm and unease. While the countryside and suburban landscapes have long served as the dominant backdrop for the artist’s paintings, their underlying mood has evolved over time. In 2019 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and took part in study programs at Unarte in Bucharest (2016) and TNUA in Taipei (2018). His recent solo exhibitions include shows at Sandwich Gallery, Bucharest (2023), Galerie SPZ, Prague (2022), Liste, Basel (2022), GASK, Kutná Hora (2021), Polansky Gallery, Prague (2020, 2022, 2025), Brno (2020), and Medium, Gallery, Bratislava, with Philipp Kolychev (2020). It exists only because I keep looking at it.” Fantom, 2026 Fantom, a new site-specific installation by the Czech artist Hynek Alt, opens at the Ateliér Josefa Sudka in Prague on 11 September 2026. Conceived for the fiftieth anniversary of Josef Sudek’s death, it returns to the photographer’s studio, a modest wooden building behind a garden wall on Prague’s Újezd. The original structure collapsed and was pulled down; the building that stands on the site today, and houses the gallery, is a faithful replica.
