I wrote a cookbook.
Which feels wild to say out loud. Even wilder to launch in this political climate.
But here we are. I am so proud of what I have accomplished and the team that helped me get here.

Cooking the Borderlands is officially up for pre-order 💥

This book doesn’t look like most Mexican cookbooks, and that’s on purpose. No perfectly staged abuelita hands, no sepia-toned nostalgia cosplay. The images reflect the world in which I grew up in. As a child of immigrants, learning American culture through movies, TV dinners on trays, drama turned to 11, and food that lived somewhere between here and there.

This book is funny and serious.
It’s intellectual but a little unhinged.
It’s about borders, but mostly about what happens when they blur.

It’s for people who grew up translating language, culture, feelings.
It’s for people who learned how “American” worked by watching movies.
It’s for everyone who understands that food is never just food.

“On this day” memories brought this gem of a memory back to me. This is what traveling with me abroad is like. Chaos, but funny chaos. Chef knees makes slippery/muddy downhill hiking scary. Nothing my ass (literally) can’t handle. Not dressed for the weather but make up for it in downhill 🍑 mud skiing. Isle of Skye is hands down top 5 places in the world I have experienced. Thank you to my loves @steph_gaudreau @craigzielinski for showing Scotland to me, stole my heart. Can’t wait to be back in the Highlands. by @claudetteazepeda

Premiering Wednesday, July 22nd at 9pm– “GGG Global Games, Part 3”

Six masters of world cuisines are still in the running for the GGG Global Games $50,000 prize. First, Guy Fieri tasks the three chefs of Group A with making their spicy favorite using ingredients that echo specific colors found in their countries’ flags. The chef with the least successful dish is eliminated. Then, the three chefs of Group B sprint to find a cart containing the unique American ingredient that they must feature in a Sunday supper inspired by their country. One chef is eliminated, and the four surviving chefs head into the Global Games semifinals
