This is definitely not me at my best but when you don’t have your best, does that stop you from giving your best? Is your best always defined by how you perform at your best or is it defined by you still giving all even when that fails you?

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a big believer in singers especially having some form of knowledge in learning harmonies and knowing how to sing at the appropriate times and well, but in this predicament where my voice was slowly going and I knew I would hate how I sounded, at the end of the day I had to do what I sang - so withholding nothing doesn’t just mean singing to the best of my ability, but even when my voice isn’t the best and I still have a long way to go vocally, He still wants even the parts I may not feel comfortable giving. It was never about what we want to give to the Lord - it’s about what He requires from you. And He requires all - the good AND bad, He can use it all He is not limited🤍

Will you give your all to the Lord today withholding nothing?

“The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.” - Psalms 16:5-6 ESV

I read this yesterday morning and it encouraged me greatly so I figured why not share with you all🤍

The Hebrew word for portion in this case is “mânâh” meaning part, portion, something weighed out and many translations interchange portion with “inheritance” which we should all be familiar with but if not, by definition it’s what you receive after the passing of a friend/relative (money, houses, assets, etc.)

The Hebrew word for cup in this verse is “kôs” which comes from an unused root meaning “to hold together” (this is where it gets good to me lol)

So when David said that the Lord is his portion and cup, he’s pointing to God as his source of inheritance and the one who holds him together. We see Christ as our inheritance echoed in the NT (Ephesians 1:11-14) which the seal/guarantee being the Holy Spirit.

I thought about this for a while and upon my research, it really dawned on me how much Jesus is actually everything. There is no amount of money that anyone could leave you that will satisfy more than Jesus, no amount of cars, houses, whatever it may be - there is nothing that satisfies more than Jesus and there is no better assurance that you will have than Him. He really is the source of everything you will ever need in this life - no matter what you need you can run to Jesus🤍

Another thing that dawned on me was the concept of The Lord being his cup and holding his lot. Seeing everything that’s happening in the world and some of us in our lives personally, there is only one that is able to handle all that we go through good or bad - and that is Jesus. We go to our friends and they help but it comes a time when us humans get overwhelmed sometimes and we don’t have all the answers - but there is Jesus who never gets overwhelmed by our trials and temptations but even encourages us to give Him our loads and burdens to receive His rest (Matthew 11:28-30).

There is a beautiful inheritance that we have indeed, and it’s in Christ Jesus and Him alone 🤍 by @claudialongange

Hi everyone… I have a bone to pick at for a moment… stay with me 🤣
You know birthdays - I think we have all misunderstood it… abeg let me land🤣

For example, when we say I turned 16 and then say may this 16th chapter bring you blah di blah, please it’s not a new 16th chapter you just completed it 😭 you’re starting the 17th 🤣

HENNYWAYZZZZZZ we thank God for completing another year around the sun 🎂- definitely one TRYING YEAR BRUV but God is definitely sovereign in all💜 there is a beauty in knowing how God has revealed to me another form of Himself and I love Him even more ❤️ onto the next chapter and may I continue to love and know this Jesus that I sing about 😭🤍
