3 months ago I wasn’t last in line for the tub anymoreThree months ago (yes, I know I’m late), I had the incredible honor of performing in one of my favorite shows, Newsies. Playing “Buttons” and serving as dance captain was an absolute dream come true. The family we portrayed on stage mirrored the real-life family we became. Performing truly feels like home to me, and I am beyond grateful to our amazing directors for believing in my abilities and for all the hours of hard work they poured into the show. I could talk about them for hours as they have done more than they know for me.Newsies made my senior year unforgettable. The bonds I formed with my castmates are ones I’ll cherish forever. From rehearsals to final bows, we supported each other and created something truly magical. I am especially touched by the younger cast members, the littles, who looked up to me as a role model. Knowing I could inspire them means more than words can express and how they couldn’t wait to perform with me because they were so fascinated with my onstage presence. This experience has been more than just a performance; it’s been a journey of growth, friendship, and endless memories. I am so thankful for the laughter, the hard work, and the incredible feeling of stepping on that stage every night.
