Too much coffee.
Books that made me fall in love with words.
Stories that made me want to tell my own.
Notebooks filled with thoughts nobody else was supposed to read📓
Pens I absolutely didn’t need but bought anyway✒️
And a laptop holding entire worlds that don’t exist anywhere else yet💻

Somewhere between reading other people’s stories and trying to understand my own…

I became the writer🥰

And I think that’s my favourite plot twist so far❤️.

Everyone talks about taking the first step, but no one talks about the courage it takes not to turn around.

Maybe because the feeling of familiar it somehow feels safer, even when it hurts. But growth asks us to leave behind versions of ourselves we’ve outgrow, even when that can feel terrifying.

Sometimes the bravest thing you’ll ever do is keep walking.

✨ If this spoke to you, save it for the days you’re tempted to look back.

Hello, I’m Claudia, although around here you’ll mostly find me writing as C. Isabel.

A few things you should probably know if you’re new here:

📚I’m a romance writer building my author career slightly later than I imagined.

🇵🇹🇬🇧I was born in Portugal and live in the UK.

🙈I’m an introvert who somehow decided putting her thoughts on the internet was an excellent personal choice. 😅

☕️Coffee accounts for an unreasonable percentage of my personality.

✈️I want to travel the world, preferably with a book in my bag and a café waiting at the other end.

💻And I have far too many unfinished book drafts because my brain apparently thinks starting another novel is easier than finishing the previous seven.

Mostly, though, I’m trying to build a life around the things I love: writing, books, travel, creativity, and telling stories that make people feel something…

If any of that sounds like your kind of corner of the internet, then hi, it’s really nice to have you here 🤍

Now tell me something completely random about you.

Confessions of a Romance Writer | 001 💋

I can write romantic tension, stolen kisses and declarations of undying love.

But apparently, replying to a flirty message requires at least three business days.

The irony of being a romance writer. 😂

Please tell me I’m not alone?

Love, C. ❤️

Somewhere between writing fictional love stories, drinking too much coffee and pretending I have my life together. ☕📖

Just another day in the life of a hopeless romantic.

Love,
C. ❤️

Apparently, I need to be more realistic, dream smaller, while expecting less and stopping romanticising life….

Excuse me, but are you kidding me? 😂

I’m already living in a world where everything is expensive, people are miserable, and even my coffee needs a financial plan. And now you want me to give up my imagination too?

Absolutely NOT!

I’ll keep dreaming ridiculously big, romanticising the smallest moments, and believing that the most unrealistic things can happen. Because I’d rather be a little delusional than spend my life accepting a reality I don’t even like.

Respectfully, keep your reality. I have a life to romanticise. 💋

I think this might be the simplest explanation of why I became a writer. I didn’t start writing because I had beautiful things to say. I started because there were things inside me I didn’t know how to say out loud. So I gave them somewhere to go…

And somehow, the things that once hurt me became the very things that gave me a voice. Maybe that’s what writing has always been for me…turning what hurts into something that means something. I just didn't think there would be so much hurt…

What made you start writing?

Autumn is here, and apparently, so is my romantic delusion. 🍂💋

Red hair, cosy jumpers, cinnamon-scented everything, and an unhealthy obsession with fictional men who would absolutely ruin my life.

The laptop is open, the coffee is probably cold, and somewhere between writing a love scene and romanticising my entire existence, I’ve decided that autumn is officially my season.

And if you catch me staring into space with a suspicious smile…

Mind your business. I’m probably writing something I wouldn’t dare say out loud. 😏

Tell me, are we in our cosy girl era or our spicy romance era this autumn? Because I’m clearly doing both. 🍁

Sometimes the hardest person to let go of is the one who never really let go of you either. Because how are you supposed to stop wanting someone when you know they still want you?

When the problem was never the feeling. It was everything that stood in the way of it…

Things I won’t apologise for as a writer. ✍️📖

For writing love stories that are messy, complicated, and sometimes make you question your own morals.

For falling in love with fictional men I’ve created myself. (Someone had to set the standards. 🤷‍♀️)

For making my characters suffer a little. Okay, sometimes a lot. Character development, darling…

For romanticising absolutely everything. A rainy afternoon? A love story. A stranger in a coffee shop? Potential main character. Someone making eye contact for three seconds? That’s at least three chapters!

For writing women who make mistakes, love the wrong people, change their minds, and don’t always make the choices everyone expects them to…

For believing that a story doesn’t have to be perfect to mean something to someone!

And finally, for wanting to make a living doing something I love, even if the world keeps telling me to be realistic…

I’m a writer, babe. Being realistic was never really my thing. 😘😇

Now tell me, beautiful writers, what’s ONE thing you’ll never apologise for? 👀

This isn’t a romance about two perfect people making perfect decisions. It’s about feelings that have absolutely no business existing. And what people do with them once they’re there.

Which trope gets you every single time?

I love romance…

I write romance…

I spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about fictional relationships. But sometimes, I just want a book that makes me suspicious of absolutely everyone.

So welcome psychological thrillers 🫣

There’s something ridiculously satisfying about a story that makes you question everything you thought you knew. And yes, I absolutely try to figure out the ending before I get there😅

And even though I'm still upset at how this book ended, you should definitely read it!
