Loose-leaf album of fashion plates from “Wiener Chic” (Vienna Chic) Vienna Austria 1896.

Wiener Chic was published by Benno Finkelstein & his brother Albert in Vienna from c. 1892 for many years with distribution across cities including Vienna, Paris, Berlin, London, and New York.

Fashion magazine ‘WIENER MODEALBUM’ (VIENNA FASHION ALBUM) published by ATELIER BACHWITZ , Vienna 1934.

Atelier Bachwitz was founded by ARNOLD BACHWITZ in Vienna in 1894.

The business was located in the Beaux Arts building located at Löwengasse 47 in Vienna’s third district.

By 1938 they published around fifty magazines including ‘CHIC PARISIEN’ which is often miscredited as being a French publication.

In 1938 the company was ‘Aryanized’. It then passed to a different publisher but the fashion journal’s went on appearing until around 1943.

Pochoir fashion plate from ‘STYL’ magazine from 1922.

This plate shows men’s suits from the tailoring firm of ‘Fasskessel & Müntmann’ ,with artwork by Stephan Krotowski.

The firm of Fasskessel & Mũntmann was located in Berlin at Unter den Linden 12.
I think 🤔 I have one suit by them in my collection.

STYL was a fashion journal published in Berlin from 1922-1924 with a total of 17 issues.

Advertising flyer from the textile firm of Karl Joel , Berlin 1936.

Karl Amson Joel founded a mail order textile and clothing company in Nuremberg in 1928 and was in business until 1938.

He was the grandfather of American singer, songwriter, and pianist Billy Joel and British pianist and conductor Alexander Joel.

Fine wool broadcloth cape embroidery with silver by S. Ungar Wien (Vienna) c.1905-07.
The firm of S. Ungar was a prestigious fashion house located in Vienna’s first district at Kohlmarkt 20. They were in business from 1905-1938 with branches in Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) and in 1907 opened a shop in Berlin on Unter den Linden.
Found in the US many years ago.
