New scam alert! With AI able to generate realistic looking scripts, project proposals, audio files, and contracts in seconds, scammers can make their attacks extremely targeted to a degree that was not possible years ago. I am not a high value target, and yet they still tried to pull this on me.

How do I know AI was used in this attempt? Because like everything AI-generated, if you look at it quickly it looks all right, but the closer and longer you look, the more and more obvious it becomes. The phrasing, the yes-man responses, the affirmations of your statements, the overly-polite and generic writing style. It makes my skin crawl when I realize it.

In the last email which came after I made this post, they again sidestepped the question of having a live call with some vague excuse about their onboarding process being written only. In the same email they greeted me as Adam and then signed off "Thank you again for your time, Sarah."

Also, I should also mention: for any project proposal like this, you should imagine it from the client's point of view. A target audience of medical professionals couldn't care less about the background music, let alone 10,000 GBP worth. Just pay €20 for a royalty free track. Everyone wants to save money, and when they came back with that figure after I gave them my estimated hourly rate, it was significantly higher than I would have asked. I wanted it to be real, and thought "well, some people flush with grant money just don't know how to spend it I guess". Those are the kinds of blind spots we have to watch out for.

Be careful out their, folks!

Take 2! Anonymous version of "Spoonful of Sugar" from the film Mary Poppins, arranged for intermediate wind band. If you like what you hear, you can check it out at Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct, or visit the linktr.ee in my bio and click "Copyrighted arrangements"

Every little bit of support helps me make a living as an independent artist- if you know a music educator looking for new repertoire, if you could share with them my work, it would help me more than you could possibly know! I plan to keep posting more arrangements for school & community bands chamber groups, and jazz ensembles, so do check out my other works if you like this one. 😊 by @claussenmusic

"Nardis" - Miles Davis, arr. Adam Claussen now available at Sheet Music Plus & Sheet Music Direct (link in bio- "copyrighted arrangements")

This arrangement is an afro-cuban / swing fusion, intended for advanced high school and college level big bands. Check out the store page description for all the important info- parts, ranges, etc.

Well, IG doesn't want to let me promote my stuff using the videos I spend literal hours putting together, so let's give this a try I guess 🫠

Copyrighted arrangements can be found at the link my bio, and public domain & original songs can also be found there at a separate link for lower prices than listed on Sheetmusicplus!

No one knows about any of this because I'm awful at social media. If you send a link to an arrangement to someone who might want to use it, that would make 1000x more difference than paying for a nonsense meta ad spot, which... No thanks, I would prefer to burn my money to cook food or heat my home. by @claussenmusic

New arrangement for concert band, perfect for high school & community wind bands, available at Sheet Music Plus & Sheet Music Direct. 🎵

Visit the link in my bio or search "A Spoonful of Sugar Adam Claussen" at the above mentioned sites.

Want a custom arrangement for your group to perform? Pop, film music, jazz, classical- anything you want for any ensemble, send me a message and let's do it!

This beautiful saxophone was manufactured by @juliuskeilwerth in Germany in 1964-65, and now belongs to Sinfonisches Blasorchester Ratekau, based in Lübeck. Before it's loaned out to my new student, I wanted to test it out to make sure everything's running smoothly, and aside from one small issue with the octave key, it really has a gorgeous tone, and you really can't beat those looks! 🎷

Like I said in the video, the ergonomics aren't the best, but that's to be expected from most vintage saxes. Though, my 1961 Mark VI tenor blows this horn's ergonomics out of the water at a significantly higher cost. The spring tensions are not as responsive as I would like, and if were my horn I'd have that adjusted-- but aside from that, my main gripe with this Toneking is that the righthand keys (F, E, & D) are very close to the low B and Bb rods, so my fingertips occasionally got caught between the keys and the rods randomly-- though I'd probably get used to this and develop a closer finger position if I played this horn longer.

For a vintage horn under €1,500 this is well worth it in my opinion-- though keep in mind, most cheap vintage horns listed online are in dire need of an overhaul, which can almost double the price in many cases. If you're in the market for a vintage horn at a decent pricepoint, definitely check this one out but look for one that's been recently overhauled!

Thanks to @sb_ratekau and @christoph_liedtke for letting me playtest the horn!
