Hello!! I'm Jessica and I love taking naps with my cats and being inspired by nature, flowers, and different shapes and textures. I love making pieces for friends to be used in loving homes. Special thanks to my husband AJ, who took us to a pottery class for fun which is where I fell in love with clay! 🌻🌷💖💛 I hope you stay to watch my pottery journey ❤️

If you had told me a year ago as a pottery hobbyist that I'd be making custom pottery for a James Beard nominated chef duo, I would have laughed! Who knew that my tiered fruit bowls would catch Chef @rishimanojkumar 's eye and be a part of his vision for seafood platters. What an incredible feeling seeing my handmade pottery at new restaurant @marielachicago . It was a long process of trial and error (swipe for some BTS), and seeing my art serve a purpose and give a home to delicious food feels surreal. Thank you everyone for your kind words and support throughout and for Chef for trusting me with this project ❤️ taken in Chicago, Illinois by @clayandcatnaps

My soban- inspired dishes! Soban is a small, Korean traditional tray like table that was used for dining or writing and can be traced back to the Goryeo Kingdom!

Soaking up the last bits of summer ❤️ enjoying meals and homegrown flowers in my pottery!Watching the ephemeral lives of our garden's butterflies and praying mantis is a little reminder to slow down and savor every fleeting moment. by @clayandcatnaps

Here's how I turned my favorite Korean traditional cookie called yakgwa (약과) into a clay mold which I used to make ceramic pieces! Follow along to see how I glaze them and what I end up doing with the mini yakgwa! What other ideas do you have for these cute cookies?

During my time working on my tiered seafood platters, one of the top bowls fell apart in the bisque firing due to not scoring and slipping deep enough. Instead of tossing it, I glazed it in a medley of greens!

Now, this repurposed piece can be a vase for my fresh-cut flowers and a fruit bowl ❤️🌷🍊🌻 by @clayandcatnaps

I spent months throwing, trimming, and glazing 14 custom shot glasses for my sister’s bachelorette party. We had an amazing time! ❤️
Note to self: Never offer a custom pottery piece as a game prize unless you’re prepared for a massive tie. 😄 taken in Chicago, Illinois by @clayandcatnaps

A little handbuilding to take a break from wheel throwing! It was fun to experiment with hand painting and glazing. These little trinket dishes were a great creative release that scratched an itch in my brain. The otter trays were inspired by the talented @faunaclay !

A collection of the first tiered fruit bowls I made, which you can find at local Chicago cafe & bar Truce! @trucechicago

I love that I created this in order to fulfill a functional need, in this case one of our lovely bartender @rolli_polli94 who wanted an organized and easy access of fruits in and not in use! Now, this creative labor of love is becoming a regular creation of mine! by @clayandcatnaps
