Exciting news!

As of recent, I have accepted, and have started a job at Oklahoma Baptist University as the “Coordinator for Student Ministry, Leadership & Engagement.” Emma & I are super excited about this opportunity to serve at the institution that has impacted us both in so many ways. We believe this is exactly what God has for us for this next season of our live. God is working at OBU and we are excited to be apart of what He is doing!
With this comes another opportunity, as I will have some availability to serve in various churches throughout the years. One of the things the Lord has given me a passion for is preaching / teaching from His Word to others.
With that being said, if there is any way I could serve your church in some capacity, I would love the opportunity to do so. Whether that be preaching on a Sunday morning or Wednesday night, or serving / speaking at a Discipleship event, or however else I may be able to serve, I would love the opportunity to do so. Throughout high school, I ran XC, but when I got to college, I stopped running as much.
Over the last 3 months, I have slowly gotten back into running. As I began to run again, I was quickly reminded of why I love to run.
There are many reasons…from enjoying a peaceful morning run, to running in honor of Trey & Caleb, to experiencing God’s beautiful creation…but what always rises to the surface is the parallels between running and life.

This morning I ran 7 miles for the first time in a long time, and it was not easy. There were many moments where I wanted to quit…to start walking, or to simply give up. However, I convinced myself to keep running, and was able to finish the run.

In the moments I was tempted to give up, I had to remind myself that could finish. I could finish because I had done harder things before. I could finish because I always have more left in the tank than I think. I could finish because the run ultimately was not going to kill me.

And the same is true in life. We are all running the race of life that ultimately finishes at the same spot…before the throne of Jesus, where He will either say “well done my good and faithful servant,” or “depart from me, I never knew you.”
As we run this race, there is a guarantee to be hard moments, and burdensome times. There is a guarantee to be frustrating experiences, and moments where you just want to give up. And I just want to encourage you in those moments to not give up. Don’t let the schemes of the enemy defeat you.

I pray that in those moments you are reminded of all the times God has been faithful in the past, and I pray that restores your confidence that God is still faithful today…and forevermore. I pray that in those moments, you are able to keep running…not because of your own strength, but because of the Lord’s strength. I pray that in those moments, you are reminded of the sacrifice Jesus made on your behalf, and that if He can face death for our sake…we can fave whatever this life throws at us for His sake. by @claytonfreeman_

It’s been 13 years since my brother Trey went to be with Jesus. Over the last 13 years, there have been moments of grief, and moments of triumph, but there has never been a day where I wasn’t reminded of, or thought of, my brother.

Every time I watch the video that I posted below, if I were to be honest, my natural instinct is to be angry. To be frustrated. To question why God didn’t answer our prayers and heal Trey on this earth.
However, it is in that moment that I am reminded of 2 Corinthians 4:18, which says, “as we fix our eyes, not on what it seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” I am reminded that this world is not our home. I am reminded that Trey got the greater healing. I am reminded that because of the Hope we have in Jesus, I will see Trey again…and next time I see him, there is no cancer or pain that can harm him again.

No one reminded me more of this than Trey. Trey would be miserable in the hospital room, yet he would still have a smile on his face & would be asking people about their relationship with Jesus. His compassion, boldness, and faith were what I strive for mine to be every single day.

Trey, it is an honor to be called your brother. It is an honor to be able to carry your legacy on. And I long for the day where I get to see you again forevermore. Love you bro. My forever superhero.

Switzerland 2026!!

Em & I were able to take a trip to Switzerland with her fam this last week & it was absolutely incredible.

So grateful for this time with family, and getting to see more of God’s beautiful creation. The views were absolutely incredible.

What a summer!!!

- 3 weddings
- 2 Rangers games
- amazing Hawaii trip
- 1 new dog
- 2 camps (Falls Creek & Super Summer)
- an amazing wife to do it all with

So thankful for each person in these photos…for their encouragement, their support, their friendship, but most importantly, the way they each point me to Jesus.

My first summer as a full time staffer at OBU, and it was a blast. I got to serve alongside many OBU students who so faithfully poured into thousands of youth at Super Summer, Falls Creek & everywhere in between. What a blessing it is to see God move and work in such powerful ways…and I can’t wait to see all that God does this upcoming year on Bison Hill!

What a great weekend, celebrating Logan Bearrunner.

- Texas rangers dominating win on Friday
- great time of encouragement and prayer over Logan on Sat morning
- original pancake house for breakfast on Saturday (the best)
- finished a escape room with 25 mins left
- games & coffee at Nehemiah Coffee Co.
- finished with dinner at Babes Chicken & a 10/10 chicken dance by Logan

9 years ago today, I surrendered to a call to vocational ministry.

Over the last 9 years, there are so many things to be grateful for…from the people God has placed in my life, to the places God has called me to go, to the countless that I have witnessed be transformed by the Lord.

However, the greatest blessing is the woman God has provided me with in this life. There is no one else I would rather serve alongside. And I am especially grateful to be able to serve at @obunews with my bride. I love you Emma!

Emma & I had a great and fulfilling weekend.

On Friday, we were able to celebrate Haley & Alek’s marriage. It was a beautiful ceremony and so much fun. I was grateful to be able to stand by Alek’s side. I’m excited to see how God uses this couple throughout their life for His glory!

On Saturday, we were able to celebrate my cousin Canaan & Emily’s wedding in Texas. It was such a blast to be there and to celebrate with them. I’m thankful for the way Canaan & I have been able to stay close, even while living in different states.

Then, on Sunday, Emma & I traveled to Tulsa, where I had the privilege of preaching at Riverview Baptist Church. It was an honor to be able to share with their congregation.
I was able to share my story with the congregation, and shared about Caleb & I’s car accident. After the service, an older couple came down front and shared how the wife had suffered a stroke 6 months earlier. She was not supposed to be able to walk/talk/eat/etc. again, yet here she was, 6 months later, doing all of those things she was told she wouldn’t be able to do again. And to that we say…but God.
I know God does not always choose to heal on this earth, and sometimes He chooses the eternal healing (the greater healing), but it is so encouraging to continue to hear how God is using Caleb’s story to impact lives with the Gospel/provide encouragement to people who are walking through hard times.

What a great weekend. Yes it was tiring but it was also very fulfilling and life-giving. The greatest part was having Emma by my side through all of the celebration. by @claytonfreeman_
