As I head into my third season of river surfing, I’m excited to lean into a new hobby after a low-snow winter. But it hit me—snow is water, so everything is connected. Less snow impacts our rivers, drinking water, electricity, and more. It’s a reminder to respect the earth, use water more mindfully, and appreciate the role nature plays in our lives.

What can I say about you, man?

You took me in when I moved to Colorado 10 years ago to make my transition a smoother experience, then we explored Colorado together for years; goofed around, witnessed each other’s milestones, and et cetera.

I felt honored to have been part of your life and fortunate to have spent more time with you before you wrapped up your decade in Colorado.

You were an all around guy. Everyone liked you. You knew how to have fun and, at same time, be there for family and friends.
