Such a beautiful morning with Oxygen Yoga & Fitness! The setting was absolutely gorgeous, and I really loved getting to meet and connect with so many wonderful women and local vendors.

Days like this are such a good reminder to get out, connect with your community, and support the people doing what they love. 🤍

Mark was getting ready to mow this area of the sanctuary when I discovered passion flower vines growing wild, so we decided to leave it alone and let nature do her thing.

And OMG, I am so glad we did! 💜

There are SO many passion flowers now and even more maypop fruits growing everywhere!

The flowers almost look too intricate to be real, but what makes this native vine even more incredible is that it produces an edible fruit called maypop.

When ripe, the fruit can be opened to reveal a juicy, seed-filled center with a sweet-tart tropical flavor. Passionflower also has a long history of traditional herbal use, particularly the leaves and flowers for tea.

This is exactly why I love learning what is already growing wild here. Something that could have easily been mowed down turned out to be an entire patch of food, flowers, and medicine growing right beneath our feet.

Sometimes the best thing we can do for the land is simply let it grow. 🌿💜#cleanpurelife #mycleanpurelife #animalsanctuary #passionflowers #foraging by @cleanpurelife
