🏆1st Place for UCalgary’s Orbis Dino Run🦖

@ucalgarymed students, the @cleats4kidsfoundation, and members of the @dinosmsoc and @dinostfxc teams came together to take part in @orbiscanada's National Strava Art Challenge — and @ucalgary placed first!

Together, 40 participants ran more than 240km, created dinosaur-themed Strava art, and raised $500 in support of @orbiscanada’s mission to reduce preventable vision loss worldwide. Swipe to see photos from run day, including participants receiving @ucalgary’s trademark “Destined to Be a Dino” shirts in recognition of their hard work and support.

A special thank you to @ucalgarymed Orbis Future Vision Leader Chapter Lead @ameen.alizada and @yyc_ophtho resident leads Dr. Mohamed Bondok and Dr. Mostafa Bondok for their leadership in organizing this creative and impactful initiative.

A big thank you to everyone who was involved in our charity tournament in support of the move for mental health campaign! Community support like this reminds us of the importance of what we’re building towards as a team. Kids win!

Good food = good fuel! 🍎🥦

The Cleats4Kids team visited a Grade 2 classroom to learn about the Canadian Food Guide and how balanced meals fuel healthy, active lifestyles.

Students brought their learning to life by creating their own healthy meal plates through art and creativity.

This program was made possible through a grant from @unacanada, which helped fund educational materials and healthy snacks for participating students.

- The registration fee per team is NOW $130 per team, proceeds from this event are donated to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
- Teams can sign up 12-14 players for their rosters, all players will receive lanyards, food and drink for their entry into the tournament

The @cleats4kidsfoundation , an initiative co-founded by @ucalgarymed medical student @ameen.alizada , hosted a community soccer tournament that brought players, supporters, and local leaders together and raised $2,000 for @orbiscanada in support of its global mission to prevent avoidable blindness and restore sight.

Ameen is also an Orbis Future Vision Leader, part of a national community of medical trainees who use advocacy, fundraising, and community action to support global eye health. At UCalgaryMed, we are proud to see our students pairing medical training with meaningful leadership that advances prevention, access to care, and health equity, in Calgary and beyond. by @cleats4kidsfoundation

45s of our favourite Cleats4Kids event⚽️💙

We believe access to sport starts with access to health, and protecting vision helps kids learn, move, and play with confidence. Because of you, we raised $2,000 for @orbiscanada and collected a ton of equipment donations for @kidsportcalgary to help more kids get on the field.

Thank you to every team, volunteer, and supporter who showed up and brought the energy all day. A huge congratulations to the Sneaky Lizards, our 2026 Cleats4Kids champions ❕🏆
