To be honest, I have wondered how to announce this project because I have never written something that feels more poignant and personal to where I am right now.

And in the many conversations I’ve had, it’s confirmed what I think we are all feeling.

HOW do we stop feeling so SCATTERED and PULLED by the things happening around us and actually be PRESENT for our lives?

How do we live in a world that is constantly asking for our attention without handing it our attention?

How do we stay tender when there is so much to carry? How do we care deeply without carrying everything? How do we show up for the people right in front of us when our minds have 74 tabs open somewhere else?

How do we make sure that while our lives are getting wider, our roots are still getting deeper?

Because I don’t think the deepest problem is that we’re busy.
I think it’s how quietly a busy, distracted, reactive life can begin forming us.

We start measuring ourselves by standards we never consciously chose. Reacting to whatever feels most urgent. Living three steps ahead of our own lives. Being everywhere and somehow missing where we actually are.

And I have felt this in my own BONES!

I don’t want to become better at managing my scatteredness.
I want to become ROOTED.

I think we feel the tension— knowing that we are being formed and that WHO WE ARE is our life.
We feel the weight of knowing that while you’re so busy building a life, you can miss actually living it. And that who you are? Well— THAT is your actual life.

This book isn’t just about your pace. It’s really more so about recognizing how your soul is being formed as you go— and what good is it to gain the whole world and lose your soul?
Jesus offers a DIFFERENT WAY. It disrupts our normal and allows us to actually delight in the life we have. It prepares us to be people of peace regardless of what pulls at us.

We can grow roots deep enough to hold us steady and lives wide enough to give His love away. Isn’t that the Gospel?

I have never believed more deeply in a message and honestly, I’ve never fought harder to resist my flesh and walk it out myself.

Scripture tells us that when God called Abraham, He didn’t hand him a map.
He didn’t outline the terrain or explain how it would all unfold.

He simply said, “Go to the land I will show you.”

It was a call rooted in trust, not clarity.
Obedience before understanding.
Movement before confirmation.

Abraham stepped forward with nothing but God’s character to guide him—learning that faith often begins with direction, not details.
With one voice leading him— that was it.

I’ve been thinking about that kind of faith a lot lately.

I’ve been a little nervous to share this.
And also quietly excited in that God-is-doing-something-new kind of way.

Because pivots rarely feel natural at first.
They usually feel awkward. Stretchy. A little unclear.

Cleerely Stated began with longer-form writing—slowing down, sitting with Scripture instead of skimming past it. And I’ve felt a nudge to return to that—to create a quieter place where depth is possible again.

So I’m starting something new.
It’s called The Living Room.

If Instagram is the front porch, this is the living room.
Shoes off. Conversations that linger. No pressure to be impressive.
A space for slower writing, deeper reflection, Scripture we can actually sit with, and honest conversations that don’t fit neatly into a caption.

Inside The Living Room, you’ll find:
• a weekly podcast (with some episodes only shared there)
• full podcast notes + reflection questions
• Scripture to ground the conversation
• a written prayer you can return to throughout the week

This isn’t about adding more noise to your life.
It’s about creating space.
Not polished certainty. Not spiritual performance.
Just faithful movement—together.

Another Monday, another M I R A C L E 🙌🏻
More TIME! The great commodity. Father, thank You for a new week. A fresh plate. HOPE. I praise you.

Jesus, I’m stepping into this week with gratitude—but also with an honest awareness of how fragile life can feel. Things shift, plans unravel, people change, and without even realizing it, my heart starts trying to get ahead of it all—managing what I can, anticipating what I can’t, rehearsing outcomes just to feel a little more steady.

But You are not fragile. You are steady where I am shaken, certain where I feel unsure, present in places I haven’t even arrived to yet. Nothing about this week will surprise You. You are already there.

So instead of trying to get ahead of my life, I want to stay anchored in what is already true about You. You are not rushed, not reactive, not withholding clarity to make me anxious. You are a God who leads, who provides, who walks with me—not just ahead of me.

And still, I feel the pull to think five steps ahead, replay conversations, grip outcomes, and carry what was never mine. But control has never produced peace—it only gives the illusion of it. Peace is formed through trust.

So this week, I’m choosing a different posture. Not striving, but surrender. Not overthinking, but obedience. Not gripping, but open hands. I don’t have to figure out the whole week—I just have to be faithful in the moment I’m standing in.

To listen before I react, love the person in front of me, and do the next right thing—with You at the center, not compartmentalized but present in every part of my day.

You are close to the overwhelmed and steady in what feels uncertain. What I release, You sustain. I don’t walk into this week alone.
I walk forward holding YOUR hand, fully protected and safe and joyful in You!
My God and my dearest friend. My help. My restorer. My keeper and My King.

I’m here, Jesus—open hands, a steadying heart 🤍

Sunday is here and a fresh week awaits us…His kindness already whispering to our hearts, “Rest in Me, I will show you the way.”

This week, we will remember:

🤍What you give your attention to will quietly shape the direction of your heart—either steadying you or slowly draining you. God continually draws us back to what is true and life-giving, not to limit us, but to restore us. You don’t have to cling to what exhausts you; release creates space for renewal.

🤍God has never asked you to carry an entire week in a single moment—He meets you fully in what is right in front of you. Anxiety grows when we reach too far ahead, but peace returns when we come back to the next faithful step. Grace is already here, waiting in today. These 24 hours and tomorrow will come as it may.

🤍Unforgiveness settles quietly, but it slowly reshapes the posture of your heart if left untouched. Choosing to forgive—even in small, everyday moments—keeps you free, soft, and open to love. You’re not dismissing the hurt; you’re refusing to let it take root. This is good ground.

🤍Your thoughts are powerful, but they are not always telling the truth. When they begin to spiral, you have permission to pause, realign, and return to what God actually says. Truth steadies you in ways fear never can. Return again and again and again— what does your Maker say?

🤍It’s possible to move so quickly that you miss the life you’ve been given. Slowing down isn’t falling behind—it’s aligning with a God who is never rushed and always present. When you make space to notice, you’ll often find that fullness was already there.

His goodness— there is NOTHING like it!
It’s canvassed your days, covers your tomorrow, and cares for you exactly where you are.
Drink it in— it is LIFE to your bones and hope for your heart.

⭐️ Even when you can’t articulate it yourself… He fills in the gaps, intercedes for you, and provides what your soul can’t name but deeply craves. He knows what is on the agenda for today and He will supply!

⭐️ That door you thought was closed? God holds time in His hands. His timelines aren’t bound by what feels rushed or overdue to you. BREATHE. He can truly move mountains in a moment.

⭐️ It’s often the things that feel like they’re going to break you that God uses to refine, renew, and restore you in a way you couldn’t have predicted. He only strips what is necessary for health, growth, + peace.

⭐️ You don’t have to match yesterday’s strength or tomorrow’s capacity. God’s grace meets you right here—in today’s version of you. Sometimes lower energy actually helps you notice the supernatural covering of God even more.

⭐️ Contentment won’t always feel natural, but it will always be worth it. Joy grows where gratitude takes root. Don’t believe the lie that it’s based on your emotions. Rehearse truth + PRACTICE contentment.

⭐️ You’re not loved more on your productive days. You’re not less cherished on your tired ones. Heaven’s scale weighs differently. Let this assure your soul!

⭐️ You were never meant to carry the weight of deadlines God didn’t set. Loosen your grip… let peace rush in. Freedom comes when you stop adhering to standards your Maker didn’t set.

⭐️ You don’t have to wait until you feel “more ready” or “more qualified.” The Spirit of God lives in you—now. Claim this good ground! Speak life. You have AUTHORITY here!!!

⭐️ A good laugh. A warm coffee. A good porch convo. Don’t underestimate how God uses little joys to heal big wounds. Welcome them! Make space for them! They are LIFE to you!

I think a lot of us are waiting for our lives to calm down before we decide to live differently.

After this deadline. After this trip. After this launch. After the kids get through this stage. After work settles down. After we finally get caught up.

Then we’ll slow down. Then we’ll be more present. Then we’ll spend more time with Jesus. Then we’ll figure out what actually matters.

But what if this IS the life we’re being formed in?

Not some future version where our calendars are spacious, everyone needs less from us, and we finally feel “on top of things.” This one. Right here.

And being rooted doesn’t mean we learn how to carry an unsustainable life with a better attitude. Actually, I think the opposite happens.

When we become rooted, we finally begin to recognize our true capacity.

We get clear enough to notice what God has actually asked us to carry and what we picked up because we were afraid to disappoint someone. What deserves our attention and what has just gotten used to receiving it. What needs a wholehearted yes, what needs a loving no, what needs to be picked up, and what we are finally free to put down.

That’s why we can’t keep saying, “I’ll get rooted when this season is over.”

We need roots in THIS season so we know how to live the next one.

We need to be with Jesus now so we can discern what is worth building, what is worth releasing, and who we are becoming while we do it.

That’s really the heartbeat behind Rooted, Not Rushed. Not learning how to cram more into already-full lives, but becoming deeply rooted enough that our lives can actually be shaped by what matters most.

Because while we’re working so hard to build a life AROUND us, something is constantly being formed IN us.

And maybe the shift we keep waiting for doesn’t begin with a different calendar, a different capacity, or a different season.

Maybe it begins when we stop asking, “When will life give me room?” and start asking, “What is this way of living doing to me?”

Because we are being formed either way.
We might as well pay attention🤍

I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to confuse being loving with making sure everyone feels good about us.

And I don’t want to swing the pendulum so far toward “I don’t care what anyone thinks” that I become unteachable. I do care.

I want to notice when my tone is sharp.
I want to apologize without defending myself.
I want to listen when someone I trust sees something I can’t.
I want to be quick to ask the Holy Spirit, “Is there something here You’re trying to show me?”

That kind of awareness is a gift.

But I’m learning there is a difference between conviction and constant self-evaluation.
The Holy Spirit is specific. He leads us toward repentance and freedom. He doesn’t require us to conduct an ongoing investigation into ourselves every time someone seems distant, disappointed, or different.

And goodness, that is FREEING.
Because sometimes love will ask me to go back and make it right. Sometimes wisdom will tell me I need to listen longer, own my part, or say I’m sorry.
And sometimes, after bringing it honestly before God, there is nothing left to fix.

Someone may still misunderstand me (and that’s hard!!!)
A decision may still disappoint them (and that’s hard!!!)
I may not get to control the version of me that exists in their mind (and that’s hard!!!)

Jesus never promised us the approval of everyone around us. He gave us something far steadier: a life rooted in the Father’s love, led by His Spirit, and increasingly formed into His likeness.

Maybe that’s the invitation—to become people who are incredibly easy to correct but increasingly difficult to control.

Soft hearts. Open hands. No eggshells.

Lord, keep me humble enough to hear You when You say, “Go back and make that right,” and secure enough to trust You when You say, “You can let this go.”

I want to love people deeply without asking them to carry the weight of telling me who I am.

Another Monday, another MIRACLE 🌟 more time. NONE of it deserved or earned— all a gift. I’m endlessly grateful.

Jesus, I think one of the easiest things to do is accidentally stop participating in my own life.
Sometimes I wake up already thinking about what needs to happen next, carry yesterday’s frustration into today, or move from interaction to interaction without noticing the posture I’m bringing with me. And then somehow another week has passed.

But I don’t want to live that way. And I don’t have to!
You have been far too good to me for me to sleepwalk through the life You’ve given me.

You are worthy of my attention, Jesus. You are steady when my emotions aren’t. Patient when I’m reactive. Present when my mind is somewhere else. You keep meeting me with new mercy, and I PRAISE YOU that I never have to manufacture what I need most. It is found in You.

Teach me to live with greater awareness this week—not self-obsession, but Spirit-led awareness.

Help me recognize when my mood is beginning to become everyone else’s problem. When one disappointment is coloring my perspective. When I’m responding to an assumption instead of what was actually said. Give me the emotional agility to acknowledge what I feel without handing it authority it was never meant to have.

And then, Holy Spirit, help me pivot.

I can pause before responding. I can change my posture. I can repent quickly. I can laugh again after something hard. I can refuse to let five difficult minutes become a difficult day. I can return to what is true.
What FREEDOM.

Jesus, I want to become more available to the life happening around me because I’m anchored in the Life within me. That is EVERYTHING good.

Make me interruptible. Keep me tender. Help me notice the person in front of me. Let me obey the nudge before I explain it away. Remind me that following You happens right here—in normal conversations, changed plans, inconvenient moments, and choices no one applauds.

Thank You that I don’t need extraordinary circumstances to live a deeply meaningful life.
I just need to keep waking up to You in the one You’ve already given me.

A new week is on the horizon— how blessed and undeserving are we! God, we choose to remember YOU in everything we say and do this week.
We will:

🤍 We will hold our plans with open hands because surrender is not passive—it is the active decision to trust God more than our preferred outcome. We can make wise plans, pray bold prayers, and deeply desire something without making our peace dependent on getting it. This week, when something shifts, we will ask, “God, what are You doing here?” before deciding something has gone wrong.

🤍 We will open the Word to be formed, not simply informed. Scripture should eventually change the speed of our reactions, the stories we tell ourselves, what we tolerate, how quickly we forgive, and what we call important. We will not just ask, “What does this mean?” but “What needs to change in me because this is true?”

🤍 We will remember that every yes spends something—time, attention, energy, presence—and those resources are not unlimited. A good opportunity can still be the wrong assignment if it consistently steals us from what God has actually entrusted to us. We will stop treating availability as faithfulness and let our priorities put boundaries around our calendars.

🤍 We will choose the kind of character that becomes more valuable the longer someone knows us. We will take value and excellence in what our hands do but we will first remember that trust is built in the unremarkable moments —when we do what we said we would do. Integrity. We will care more about becoming dependable than appearing impressive.

🤍 We will speak life with authority and HOPE! What is true? This we know: For whatever is ahead, God is already there, grace will never be in short supply , and there is goodness ahead we cannot yet imagine. When our language coaches our spirit, we are able to be joyful and expectant because we know who we follow!

PTL! His goodness is EVERYWHERE!

🙌🏻We reach for our phones for comfort, connection, or escape, but information cannot do what God’s presence does. Your soul was made for communion with Him and real people.

🙌🏻God isn’t limited to the parts of your story you’re proud of. In the hands of a Redeemer, even wrong turns and painful years can become wisdom, testimony, and preparation.

🙌🏻 Jesus never measured fruitfulness by how much He fit into a day. Kingdom growth often looks less like doing more and more like abiding deeply enough for the right fruit to grow.

🙌🏻Disappointment says something hurts; discouragement starts making conclusions about the future because of it. You can grieve what happened while anchoring your hope in a God whose goodness hasn’t changed.

🙌🏻Scripture is full of enormous stories that began with small obedience. As we say yes to Him, He multiplies + moves mountains with it, most importantly changing us in the process.

🙌🏻Sometimes God changes what surrounds you; sometimes He supplies what you need within you. Supernatural peace, endurance, and strength aren’t consolation prizes—they’re evidence of a present God sustaining you.

🙌🏻Jesus was never so consumed with where He was going that He missed who was in front of Him. Presence treats people as precious, not interruptions between us and what’s next.

🙌🏻Grace teaches us that belonging is received, not performed. Healthy relationships make room for honesty, growth, weakness, and the freedom to stop auditioning for your place.

🙌🏻God doesn’t need (nor does He offer) your complete understanding to faithfully lead you (that’s trust!). Obey what He has made clear and trust the Shepherd who sees terrain you cannot. Sometimes the answer is to stop praying for the answer.

🙌🏻No future day exists outside God’s presence and faithfulness. There are mercies you haven’t needed, prayers you haven’t watched Him answer, and goodness you cannot yet imagine. ⭐️ by @cleerelystated

I wanted to share this because it was one of those moments as a mother, where God hugs you so tightly through the actions of His people, that you feel like everyone around must see His arms squeezing you.
It feels so incredibly tangible.

The pilot was leaving the cockpit as we were exiting the plane and I told Sledge, “Buddy, tell him what you want to be when you get older and for Halloween!”
Sledge pointed as he sped forward, “I want to be you! I want to be a pilot.”
His response: “Well then, go sit in my seat because that’s your future view!”
Sleddy jumped in that seat like he’d never left, his eyes big with wonder, feeling the affect of kindness ten-fold. They didn’t realize that while they handed him his little toy wings, they infused mine and Will’s with supernatural strength.

Once again, a million thousand prayers coming to pass all at once.
The fact that the pilot could understand him and that Sleddy could voice this! UNREAL!

I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve watched God absolutely obliterate the box that the world has put us in. The box is often sub-conscious and not crafted with mal-intent— it often just happens— these constructed ceilings based on the limited, finite view we have here. It feels responsible to adhere to them sometimes.
But every single time, I’m reminded that what we can’t see is SO MUCH MORE REAL than what we can.

I post these miracles happening in real-time but you don’t get to see all the other— the actual LIFE that’s being lived in-between. The gritty. The hard. The discouraging moments. The constant surrender of the future. The picking up and the putting down of the expectations of the world— time and time again.
I’m so wildly grateful for a Father who knows when our wings need a little extra pick-me-up.

I always think about the view that He has….in a plane, we see a little zoomed out, but imagine His view.
He’s the opposite of worried. He holds the world in His hands.
And yet, He comes close. So tender + aware. He helps us remember that what the world calls a ceiling, He sees as a runway.

Sometimes, He lets us sit in the cockpit so we can have a glimpse of what He sees and it’s the surge we need to carry forward 🤍 by @cleerelystated
