Most days, here we go, fast, like an old videotape, I can hear that other day. From the bottom of the pool, the same light hovers above. Is it winter yet? The pool is closing to be retiled. It’s winter now, and the tree outside work looks the same. Another year has passed. A bag of feathers has opened up and spilled on our street. It’s winter now, and I find feathers everywhere I look. Seagirls are circling a soccer pitch. At the beach I watch the same ones sit on the water top. Another season has passed. —————————Clem McNabb is a photographer living on unceded Wurundjeri country.
