Rebetiko didn’t start as “traditional Greek music”.

It started in ports, poor neighbourhoods and communities shaped by exile.

And somehow, a century later, we’re playing it with synths and 808s. ⚡️

Did you know this story before watching this?

🇬🇷 Yes
👀 I knew bits of it

Greek nightlife existed before Mykonos…

Kokaini is based on a real rebetiko song from an era when songs about drugs, underground life and the tekés were part of Athens’ musical landscape.

Then came censorship.

But that’s another story.

Did you know this side of Greek history? 👀

YES / absolutely not by @clementbuffiere

WHERE’S ELEKTRE? 🔎

Somewhere in this crowd, two members of the band have apparently forgotten they were supposed to be on stage.

Can you find them? 👀

POV : you came to CosmoJazz to watch a concert and accidentally ended up at a Greek village party with 2000 people.
How many people does it take to start a panigyri?

Merci, @cosmojazz_festival , merci @andremanou Cela restera un de nos plus beaux souvenirs de 2026 💜⚡️
