Fields of Green 🌿 - Azores looking like an asian landscape. This is the only tea plantation in Europe and a beautiful one for that matter. . . . . . . #saomiguel #gorreana #chagorreana #portoformoso #teaplantation by @cleojoosen
Wilder Ways 🪷 - The Hydrangea is found in every landscape of the Azores. When in bloom, there are colors everywhere. They use the plant to create natural fences and windbreaks but they look beautiful as well. . . . . . . #saomiguel #ribeiradoscaldeirões #nordeste #açores #junglevibes by @cleojoosen
Green Shark 🦈 - The landscapes of the Azores often look like another planet. Volcanic craters full of all sorts of vegetation and most of the time shrouded in clouds. The famous Logoa do Fogo is no exception. . . . . . . #sãomiguel #lagoadofogo #aguadepau #açores #green by @cleojoosen
Stronger than stone 🛘 - Time heals and carves new paths. Sometimes with a lot of patience, like a waterfall creates its own ways. This beautiful example is called Salto do Cabrito and is reachable via a very steep path. . . . . . . #saomiguel #saltodocabrito #açores #visitazores #ilhasaomiguel by @cleojoosen
Autumn making its entrance 🍂 - What a beautiful morning at Boca do Inferno. A wonderful viewpoint looking out over multiple craters and even the ocean. The autumn colors where already peaking through. A small hike brings you to this place, highly recommended! . . . . . . #saomiguel #açores #miradourodabocadoinferno #setecidades #azores by @cleojoosen
Ocean Rhythm 🌊 - Watching waves and time go by on a slow afternoon. . . . . . . #saomiguel #praiadesantabarbara #ribeiragrande #acores #ilhadesaomiguel by @cleojoosen
Clashing Colors 💥- Vale das Lombadas is a remote and wild hidden gem. Not as easy to get to but the view is the reward. The way down can be very unsafe, so this place is not recommended for a leisurely hike. The almost neon orange color comes from volcanic activity in the ground, like a hot spring! . . . . . . #sãomiguel #valedaslombadas #cascatadaslombadas #açores #azores by @cleojoosen
Volcanic Falls 🌋- The places where fire and water collide always have a special feeling to them. Ribeira dos Caldeirões is no exception. A lush jungle-like landscape with the typical red and black sand, a wonderful place to have a leisurely stroll. . . . . . . #saomiguel #azores #ribeiradoscaldeirões #nordeste #açores by @cleojoosen
The land reaching out 🫱🏻 - One of the more dramatic cliffs on São Miguel. Miradouro do Cintrão is a one of a kind spot to watch the sun disappear into the ocean. . . . . . . #sãomiguel #azoreswhatelse #miradourodocintrão #açores #viewpoint by @cleojoosen
Last Two Standing 🛘 - This beautiful volcanic beach is little wonder on the west side of São Miguel. Black sand, blue waters and multiple formations in the sea. Such an interesting place. . . . . . . #saomiguel #praiadosmosteiros #açores #azores #volcanicbeach by @cleojoosen
Green Circus ❇️ - One of the many craters on São Miguel. Caldeira Seca was one of the bigger ones we saw, the different sectioned pastures reminded me of a circus tent. . . . . . . #saomiguel #caldeiraseca #pontedelgada #açores #setecidades by @cleojoosen
The Blue and Green 🌿 - The west side of Sao Miguel is a wild and green area full of beautiful landscapes. There are so many viewpoints and hikes near craters and colorful lakes. I think it was my favorite part of the island. . . . . . . #sãomiguel #setecidades #pontadelgada #craterlake #açores by @cleojoosen
